This is a popular birthday. I was in Cardiff having breakfast at a hotel on my birthday when I realised the woman on the next table was celebrating her birthday. There were fewer than fifteen people in the room....shows that you really only need a low number to get 2 sharing a birthday.

Actually a 50/50 chance in a room of just 23 people...like a football squad ;)

EDIT: Also, the odds are even better in a restaurant/hotel/bar, as the chances are you are out celebrating :)

He uses the word "pedagogic" - I work in education, so know what it means & how to pronounce it. Virtually no one else I know has a clue what pedagogy is. Using such a technical term in a second language marks him out as a sharp guy (assuming this wasn't just his PR people)
