In from 8s already, will love the ground

3.35 So Mi Dar 6/1
Shes back, Winter looks an out and out miler to me and could be stretched on that ground, So Mi Dar would be a goodthing if 100% but only Gosden will know. The ground is against Shutter Speed and Queens Trust, the Godolphin fillies look big dangers.

Hello, crew. Tomorrow looks another nice days racing at Gooders and I’ll nominate a filly with a lovely name who is set to contest the Nursery (4.10).

COSMOPOLITAN QUEEN – this old girl started off her career in respectable fashion finishing 7th (beaten only 3.75 lengths) in a decent Newmarket maiden before filling the runners-up berth, in a novice affair, at Kempton. After this connections opted to step Cosmopolitan Queen up markedly in class (to Group 2 level) but, on that occasion, she proved no match for either Clemmie or Nyaleti – although she was by no means disgraced behind them. What she does look though is very reasonably perched on 78, for her nursery bow, and I would expect her to be highly competitive off this mark of the morrow. This is enhanced when you further consider the excellent David Egan (Dickie Hughes’ nephew) takes 5 pounds off the fillies back courtesy of his claim.

Cosmopolitan Queen is also wonderfully bred being by Dubawi and out of a mare who was a dual winner of the Group 2 Lancashire Oaks. Furthermore, the selection is also a sister to Group 1 winner Arabian Queen. With this pedigree you really would expect her, in time, to achieve a rating far, far beyond tomorrow’s 78.

Early quotes are 33/1 (from both companies betting on the race as I write) and I would recommend Cosmopolitan Queen as a solid each-way investment, people.

4.35 Galway- MAX DYNAMITE 5/1 & AIRLIE BEACH 16/1 e/w

Off for 13 months since his disappointing run in the gold cup and even longer since he has run over hurdles (last time in 2015) when second to Quick Jack in this very race. He turned in to a very smart flat horse however he seems on a very tempting mark and the pick of ruby and rich vain of form willie is in , I expect him to be out the back and rolling home as late as possible, however will be having a saver on AIRLIE BEACH too her season went a bit down hill last year over hurdles after winning her G1 and looking like a super mare but went out like a light at Cheltenham and the stable made it clear she wasn't shining at home before however making a handicap debut her mark seems bit on the soft side and will be race fit due to her decent run in the flat 15 days ago! Is in foal too which can have a positive effect sometimes and fully expect her to outrun her odds too!!
 
Tomorrow could be a ruby benefit day over in Galway am also very keen on TOWNSHEND won very impressively he last 3 times over fences he seems to get better with every run has the beating of a few of these already and hard to see them overturning the form the main danger will be Jessica's horse and is the only one i see beating him tomorrow however he is on an Upward curve will race ready but has been freshended up and will take all the beating

Any idea if she'll like the ground Barney?
 
Have So Mi Dar at 8/1 ante post and unsure whether to cover on that. Sobetsu surely not good enough despite the soft ground form. If Winter is going to stay 10f then you wouldn't have thought it would be on soft ground. Queens Trust is the one interesting me as a bit of cover, stays 12f and the dam loved soft ground. Will wait til the morning and see what's left in, would love to see So Mi Dar back on top form and romping this though

That Gustav Klimt form does look a cut above alright for Nebo.

Doesnt say much for Gustav that Nebo was that close to him on fast ground, horse is an out and out mudlark, wouldnt dream of backing Nebo against Cardsharp if it wasnt a bog
 
Gustav shirley prefers a bit of cut with Massara popping him out.

You're on at the right price with Nebo anyway, as short as 7/2 In places now. Decidedly tricky event though. Green Power at 20/1 is the one I like.
 
A four year old hasn't won the Galway Hurdle for a good while so it's about time one did. Project Bluebook @ 16/1 is my ew dabble. Goodwood looks an absolute nightmare for betting purposes with the ground gone. Good luck anyone having a punt tomorrow.

Not gonna get involved tomorrow on this heavy ground, I learnt the hard way today<laugh> Gonna save my cash for later in the week maybe.

My thoughts on the Nassau are that Winter is without a doubt the best horse in the race but this heavy ground could give her problems. I know she's won on soft over a mile, but these conditions are extremely heavy. Although shes by Galileo theres not much stamina on the dam side, so she could struggle to get home in the ground.

The problem is the race is a ****e race, barring the favourite, so it's hard to know what to take her on with. So Mi Dar has been beating trees, and got found out as soon as she stepped up in class, Sobetsu is a G1 winner over 10f on soft, but then her run in the Oaks was terrible in ground I believe to be on the soft side. She could have a chance if she bounce back. Queens Trust I'm not convinced likes these conditions either.

I honestly wouldn't be suprised to see Andrew Baldings fillie Blond Me, get a G1 double for the trainer at a big price again. If I was gonna have a bet she'd be the one I'd throw a few quid at.
 
According to BBC Radio 5 Live’s numpty sports reporter this morning, there was 2 inches of rain at Goodwood overnight. That sounded like nonsense – surely he meant 2 centimetres? However, TurfTrax reports 49.2 millimetres of rain at Goodwood, the going as Soft, Heavy in places and their map shows that the top bend is heavy and the bend at the end of the course is also heavy.

I cannot believe that the track is going to dry out much by this afternoon, so quite why Winter is still in the Nassau is beyond me. With unproven stamina over the extra two furlongs, she will need feet like dinner plates to succeed today. Three of her potential rivals have already defected. I imagine O’Blarney will be front of the queue of those complaining about the rescheduling changes that have been made this year – if the Nassau were still on Saturday, the chalk Downs might have dried out in a couple of days. They should be putting up some hurdles and having a trial for the Supreme Novices today!
