Tobes has heard that the deal is done. If true, we need to have our signings done by Thursday night so they have a week to bed in. This is piss poor by the club to sell our best player just over a week before the start of the season. If I was Clement, I'd be furious.
Agree. The longer this drags on, the more I think he might stay, unless its done and we've asked Everton to keep quiet so we can get our deals done? It's a bloody joke.
Me too.... I think the club thinks if he stays they want to extent his contract so he will still sell for big money next season . Like Britton though , I think he'll go in the summer ... for about about 45 million with a 5% sell on . It's a win win for me with Siggy , with the biggest win being the money .
**** lot of good £50m will do us if we get relegated. There's also the uncertainty of Llorente staying to deal with too.
The first full season after Bony left ( with most saying we were in big trouble without him ) ... we had the most points ever in the Premier . We'll be fine with or without Siggy IMO , when the transfer window shuts on a good player leaving at times , the door opens for others at times , for a lot less money . It's worked for us for 6 Premier League seasons so far
If we get £50m for Gylfi and Llorente leaves for £20-£30m I'll be stunned if we spend half of the figure.
It nearly bit us on the ares big time 9 weeks ago because we do things on the cheap. And we've not improved the squad, and are currently far weaker with no Gylfi and Llorente injured.
I suspect that you are correct - it really does depend on how well the money is invested. After all, Michu, Chico & Hernandez cost less than £10m in total, whereas Baston cost £15m.......
For me Valley , it had less to do with the squad and more of 4 people running the squad at different times of the season
