Here's what Slutsky is reported to have said in the local paper :

“I can’t speak about being ready 100% but we have one week more and now the target next week is to keep the condition the same level,” the head coach told the club website after overseeing a 3-3 draw against Ajax"

"Everything is positive but I am worried about one situation. In my opinion we are late on one step always, we move forward but we always late on one or two steps. We have a good squad now, a lot of new players but everybody started pre-season very late, like Hector".

“We need a minimum of three or four more players and I think they come in only after start of the season".

“We don’t have another opportunity we must be ready. But we show character, we have key players and I am in a positive mood about our future”

So essentially we are going into the season half cocked. Like we did last season and look what happened then.

villa have a far better team unfortunately and an expert at promotion manager at the helm for one example
our squad is far too thin, mid table will be a good season
That's uncommonly positive of you.

You ok?

Really? I thought the general consensus was rugby refs were good? Also don't rugby players and fans respect their refs?

Unlike I'm doing.

Sorry if this is a whoosh. On account of it missing.
No!!
Rugby Fans blame referees for every defeat it seems to be a ritual.

Well that's news to me. So rugby isn't all respect and better standards of officiating? Blimey.

Which I'll forget about in roughly 5 mins cos I'm not interested in rugby.

Slutsky seems to be well-liked by the fans and comes across as a decent bloke. He's untested in England but has a wealth of experience of management behind him. Hopefully his time observing the English game will serve him well. As for this season, we've managed to acquire some useful additions but we don't have the strength in depth to mount a serious promotion challenge. It hasn't been a happy summer after relegation and fan engagement with the club is continuing to deteriorate. We may push for a play off spot at times but a finish of around 9th-13th looks to be most likely.

He needs to start well or the terrace experts will be dissecting his tactics and then pontificating sagely on how he's (a) tactically naive (b) has no plan B (c) lost the dressing room and (d) is generally playing too many players out of position. If he doesn't start well though, vocal assistance from the stands will be there i.e ''gerritt ****in' forrard'', ''get Meyler on'' which is generally followed by tutting and headshaking and loud cries of ''get that useless **** Meyler off''

I hope Slutskys God is smiling on him, he'll need him to be.

Rugby fans love and respect referees, and there's no truth in the rumour that three weeks ago a Salford fan threw a pint glass at the referee as he walked down the tunnel following their defeat to Leeds.

From what people have said about the Nantes match, that appears to be plan A.

That's lovely.

How dare you not be interested in what 2 world class teams from the rugby capital off the world do?

Meh.

Not sure why I've attracted the attention of the cockwombles tbh. I wasn't involved in the recent "banter" about their semi or whatever it was.

We have a great team, good players and a great manager.

My hero Bruce? Behave yersen. I admired him, he did a great job.

Biggest thing that stands in our way is ****y refs.

As opposed to the Allams?

Yes you're right - the refs are 1 904's biggest barrier to success, not the clueless ****er in charge. ffs

Well inside Wales, there you have it. The owners have galvanised the fans, we now have 100% harmony. We're going to win the league, go up through the playoffs, finish mid table or get relegated. Most weeks we'll manage to field the required eleven players, even if four are keepers. Our chairman will more than likely be prime minister before the end of the season, and when he leaves the club, we won't have a pot to piss in. In fact if he sells the club, he's the type to take the carpet grippers and light bulbs as he's a first class c***.

ALLAMS OUT

We have the most decorated manager in the league. He spent time out of work learning England, the culture, the lifestyle, the language, how we play the game, watching all the leagues. Our business so far has been little but astute and more will arrive.

I expect us to be pushing for the title from start to finish.

As long as David Marshall remains injured. If he ends up playing then relegation.
