    Good Morning Everyone

The new season kicks off (for us) this Sunday!!!!

Rumours have been rife surrounding our current flock of starlets and whether or not they would fly the coup.

Have we lost our tag as a selling club?

With six (further) days to go, how many more signings would you expect before the big kick off?

Dallas scored his third thunderstrike of the pre season on Friday night v Oxford Utd, but is it too little too late for the Northern Ireland lad?

Has Felix done enough in pre season (in your opinion) to displace Green for the keepers jersey?

Our starlets are being looked after now & indeed we are adding some great players from overseas. The old way of having 'Boarders' at TA was killed by Bates then Cellino so now we have families who live close to TA who take the kids into their homes. Club is actually still advertising for local families who would do this. We also know at some stage TA will be closed and a new Academy complex opened near to ER. The future looks bright, even though we will have a lot of foreign kids from Barcelona, Madrid, Juventus ....

Hoping to hear we have signed the Swede Hearlander (Whatever his name is) That will sort the defence out. I expect to see a few players sent out on loan or told they can leave. Dallas, Bridcutt, Antonnson, Duke to name 4. What has Tommy seen in Phillips will he be kept .... Why was Viera not used against Oxford? could he be lined up for a move or has he had a bollocking as he was fit according to Tommy.

    Hey'up Doc,

I think the Wood situation is on fence at moment, being reported he has a desire to return to prem, and the clubs and wages are circling, not to mention Woods agent who will be seeing a big payday for himself. I personally wouldn't be surprised if he left.

I think TC may be waiting to see what other players he can bring in before making any decisions on who leaves.

There's a bit of talk about our LB position, and possibly another LB signing, but they're going to have to be good to dislodge Berardi, if TC chooses to play him at LB of course......:emoticon-0148-yes:

    G'Day

Every club is a selling club if the price is right

Barcelona will make a £53m move for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil, 28, if they are unable to sign Philippe Coutinho, 25, from Liverpool. (Don Balon, via Express)

La Liga will report Paris St-Germain for a breach of Uefa's financial fair play rules over the signing of Neymar from Barcelona, even if the French side do not pay the 25-year-old Brazil forward's 220m euros (£197m) buyout clause. (El Larguero, via AS)

Do we need to sell to stay afloat I don't think so but all of us want to be paid as much as we can get and work for the best employer.. So if somebody offers $60mil for whatshisface, we will probably have to discuss it especially if whatshisface gets offered $150k a week, it could turn his head. Not me though I would be loyal and stick on $10/hr minimum wage for the sake of the club.

I think we will get a CB plus 1 more but perhaps not until the season has started. The defence is Ayling, Pennington, Cooper and Berardi for the next couple of games.

I hope Dallas and Green stay

Morning all. Could be lots of wheelin and dealin yet but could take weeks to get them all over the line in or out..we need to avoid a sloppy start to the season again, playing catch-up from day one. As for Wood, I haven’t seen one reputable article suggesting he’s looking for a move. He may yet, if there’s a daft offer but the pr side of things are certainly better managed these days

Green may be going & like LL says Woods is a target but for only relegation fodder Prem sides. Wood is great at this level but should score more than he does, which sounds unfair but he does need a few chances before slotting home, and the last couple of friendlies shows that clearly. So I dont think he would have the same chances in the prem against better defenders which means at best 10 goals. Not long ago everyone was raving about Burnley's Rodriguez and he went to Southampton to hardly ever be seen. Wood is another Rodriguez type player. he played understudy to the other big lump who got himself a transfer to Liverpool hardly ever getting a game & has since died a death somewhere. Lambert. Hope Wood stays & Tommy uses him in a couple of scenarios not just lump up front, but maybe in a 4-4-2.

CB, LB & CF needed, maybe a keeper unless BPF is deemed good enough

Let's be honest. If you were wood/ his agent. He's just had his best ever season and is coming into his prime. There will be interested parties and he can set himself up for life. Stay at Leeds pick up a knock or just have a carp season and that chance might never come.

He'd be an idiot not to look to move if the chance came. From the clubs perspective he's under contract so we can demand top dollar OR make him stay... he'll be peed off but knows if he doesn't perform his value/diminishes.

Chesh would be a better authority on this than me, but I find that most Kiwis just go with the flow, especially if there are complex decisions to be made, like in Wood's situation. I can't see him demanding anything, or over-thinking his situation. He's got the confidence to believe he'll do fine with us & probably do fine elsewhere too, so no point in worrying about it. He'll leave that to other people. Yup, even a professional footballer can have that stress-free outlook. The Kiwi approach to life is great - go with the flow & avoid stress. "She'll be right, mate"!

Can someone convince me that Negredo is a good signing?

I just don't get it. He's 31, scored 1 in 4 last season, & will prolly want to be paid squillions. Plus there's a hefty fee to be paid.

So why are we even thinking about it? At best he'll be a short term fix. At worst, a short term waste of money. Big, big (& unnecessary) risk IMO.

The point I'm trying to make is that he'll more or less do what he's told - the path of least resistance. It's the Kiwi way - they let everyone else stress for them, & don't stress themselves. His agent will make any decision for him. I'm not convinced he'll move, tbh. His agent might be impressed with the way the club is moving forward. Who knows? No point in stressing about it! :D

Wood will have already earned a good living even if he were only on £6k per week thats over £300k per year!! and he must be on double that if not more.

negredo is agent & press speculation as Besitktas are in for him so wanting his money lifted to go. He's on £80k per week now thanks to Man City, and as Chesh says he aint nothing special I would back Ekubhan to score more.

When are the squad numbers released, have they done it even though we know some are being sold or sent on loan?
