This could turn out to be a shambles of a window. At the start of it I was convinced we'd be getting VVD, we ballsed that up. Then we are after Keita, RB won't sell. Now it looks ominous that Coutinho will leave. I hope it turns soon!
I'd rather keep Philippe than get Naby. (Ideally get both but there you go) Other concerns are the Can contract and our seemingly obsession with one target.
Definitely not. He's a great dribbler and is a winger. He does not have the passing ability or the vision or the intelligence of Couts
Liverpool Transfer News: Out on Keita, but in on Goretzka Today, RB Leipzig confirms reports that Liverpool have withdrawn from their pursuit of Keita. More or less confirming that the Reds will have to wait for January or next summer to grab Leipzig’s breakout star. Leipzig CEO, Oliver Mintzlaff, said on Tuesday, “We’re looking forward to the season ahead – together with Naby!” Okay, I guess he doesn’t like money… RB Leipzig turned down £66.9 million… The Reds must now shift their attention elsewhere. Does that mean James Milner returns to the midfield with the arrival of Andy Robertson? Or does Klopp go out and sign another young midfielder? http://rushthekop.com/2017/07/26/liverpool-transfer-news-out-on-naby-keita-but-in-on-leon-goretzka/
Goretzka or (and ) Sanches would be better options to look at and cheaper. Keita can wait till next season, when RB can't play hardball anymore.
Still quite a while to go before it shuts, so for the time being I'll refrain from saying it's been an awful window.
