The time line has become so blurred now, but your post is a valid one.

However, Sigurdsson is a highly paid professional footballer, and as such has a responsibility to the Club, his team mates, the supporters, both USA residents and those who made the long journey, and to himself, to carry out the role he is employed to do. He is a hero to many, and to cry off because his "head wasn't right" wasn't very heroic.
Just my opinion, of course. Perhaps I expect too much from him.

Fair points and in normal circumstances I would agree with you, but I've got a feeling there's more to this one than meets the eye.

We need to forget Gylfi and his problem of choosing who will pay him the most and concentrate on what we need for the club to make us a better team than last season...

Putting this Sigurdsson scenario into some perspective. There are question marks about the future of several players, viz, Barrow, Montero, Bartley. Yet none of them cried off the tour, siting "head" problems.
Anyway, we could discuss this until the cows come home, and still not have a satisfactory solution. Time will sort it out, and the sooner the better for everyone.

Gylfi should have gone on tour. His argument that he had too many problems to sort out like making sure his demands of £120k are met just shows you how much he cares about the club and his team mates...They fly home tomorrow so it has been a short tour and his excuses are feeble and disrespectful.......He has an agent that can negotiate ffs.....Lost interest in him and the quicker he leaves the better we will be in preparation for this season....

Provided every penny is used towards his replacement and a striker.

And I hope we didnt pay him for sitting on his arse.

It's unlike Gylfi to throw a tantrum, my guess is that there was more than a circus going on around him, with him being pulled between Everton, his agent and the Swans. At the end of the day the Swans put him on the market for a fee after he signed a long contract.

My gut reaction would be to look at the people/circumstances surrounding that period before I disciplined him - and I doubt if Clement will.
Did he definitely flat out refuse to travel, or did he say he'd prefer not to travel and the club said ok ?
