"SAFC are looking to make the Stadium of Light a sea of red and white this weekend.

Newcastle United arrive on Wearside at lunchtime this Saturday (August 20) to contest the Wear-Tyne derby in front of a sell-out crowd.

And all supporters are being asked to sport their red and white shirts in the stands on the day, as well as scarves and banners.

Fans are reminded that all banners and flags must satisfy ground regulations.

Last season, red and white cards were placed on seats before kick-off - now hopefully the fans will render cards redundant!"

Glad they haven't gone for the cards again. They look amazing but it can't be done for two derbies in a row.

I think it looks class when everybody has their red and white stripes on but it pretty much only happens when the weather is decent.....which is maybe 1 game a year!

Got an old scarf ready to get cracked out rather than paying any attention to the strategically placed SAFC shop advertisement below the article though <ok>
 
I always take a scarf to the games, but I will still be wearing my "lucky" yellow ALS T-shirt...I might rake an old flag out of the loft though...
 
I am wearing my lucky shirt, its the one from the Reid era when we finished 7th and Super Kev scored 30 goals. Never lets me down, good job I have not put any weight on in ten years as it would be a tight fit. My mate Ginge who I go to a lot of games with has put on 5 stone since then and can't fit in his, he says its because the pies are so good in the ground he can't resist them.
