here's the thing ... Boro passed on a lot of Orta's suggestions because they were going for sticking plaster ... example: Orta had Jese, a top quality Real Madrid youngster who has played in the first team all agreed to join Boro last season, they said no and Gibson shelled out £10m on Rudy "the donkey" Gestede instead ... this is one of the reasons Karanka got angry, a lot of technically gifted ball players were given a miss by Boro

Orta is helping Rad to build something sustainable at Leeds, and it's very encouraging in how they are going about their business ... very pleased that they are adding talent to the Academy as well ... right now I am way happy that Boro gave us Orta for Monk

Can you imagine Monk and all the other traditional managers we've had in the recent past trying to scout players like the ones we've just signed ?

Just to remind you it's always jobs for their mates...

Paddy Kenny
Micheal Brown
Micheal Tong
Noel Hunt
Jimmy Kebie
Grimes
Barrow

And so on and so on...not one of them signed one player that was standout with the exception of Gary Mac who did sign a couple of decent players from left field to be fair to him.

Whilst I wont argue about McDermott and Warnock, to say that Monk only signed his mates and not one player that stood out seems a bit harsh, given that one, he signed Ayling and Jansson and two a lot of people are saying that we should re-sign Kyle Bartley.
Yes there were a lot of rubbish signings as well, but at least he did have some decent signings unlike the other two ex managers you refer too

Here we go again. Little Princess that never starts the nasty stuff can't resist a little dig. Remember this post and you calling me a cock the other day next time you come wailing about being bullied or followed from JA (you weren't) so you can be exposed as a liar once again.

Actually, those that do bother to support their team are a friendly bunch too. That is a fact that can be vouched for by others. You on the other hand?? For all we know you are a a prolific kiddy fiddler and Scum fan - wouldn't surprise me one bit. Is that what the meds are for??
I've just realised that I phoned you by accident the other day. :D I was trying to make a quick call in the car to my plumber who shares the same Christian name as you. When I didn't get the slow, drawling Yorkie accent I expected, I just said "Wrong number" & hung up. Sorry about that - really was in a hurry! <sorry> I'll try & get you one of those 30p pints next meetup :D

It amazes me there isn't more scepticism about the forthcoming season.

We have appointed a coach who no one knows, who's only managed a couple teams no one knows from cyprus, we have bascially no idea about how he will adapt to the english game and honestly, its quite concerning for me.

Then the signings, while some excite me it has come across as a very scattergun approach. We don't seem to have identified what positions we need to fill and then go out and find the best player we can for the most reasonable amount of money to fill the position. Some of these signings have me scratching my head with where they fit in, some come across as completely unnecessary. It worries me we aren't building from last season's successes, rather just starting again with players who, for the most part, have no experience of the league.

It could work out great, but it just seems way too much optimism at the moment.

I know what you are saying - I'm in the glass half full camp

And Monk has just signed Martin Braithwaite at Boro. Truly incredible signing for this level. Having already signed Christie and Howson and looking increasingly likely to get Ojo from Liverpool. If they get Bartley as well (which lets face it, is more likely than him coming here at present) then I just cannot see him not taking Boro up if im honest.

Grow up noggin......was that nasty enough, or is jock teaching you how to turn things around to suit his agenda......it'll become your weakness if you persist.....:emoticon-0148-yes:

Less of the kiddy fiddlerr Marcus. that's an accusation.

Touchy, eh, precious? <laugh>

Why bring me into it? You insulted Marcos, he responded. Nowt to do with me. <doh>

And I also think the lady doth protest too much. Marcos did not make any accusation at all. Anything beginning 'For all we know ...' is, if anything, an exasperation. Not one other person on here thought it was an accusation, apart from you, precious. Perhaps he's struck a nerve, which makes you protest automatically? <yikes>

Oh, and since you brought it up, it's actually you that's made the accusation. Read your first sentence again. A classic accusation, and followed by a reinforcement! Time to look in the mirror - if you can bear to do it. <doh>

I remember it, thought it was going to be about an accident I haven't had (changed 'phones a couple of weeks ago and had trouble backing up some numbers because I am a buffoon - pm me your number again and I will save it properly) :emoticon-0148-yes:

Nothing big about swearing, maybe you should come back when you grow up.<ok>
Irony overload... But yet another example of you lot trying to have the last word, distraction technique.. This is usually followed by you clowns having an attempt at the last word and then screaming for the topic to be dropped.
You have done it too many times now and the ploy is obvious.

I have said all along I'm in wait and see mode.

See my post above!

Only if remainers get the last word. The leavers are the ones constantly using the ploy to drown or shut down debate or more sensible opinions........
Let you have the last word the other week, when you lost the plot, then we all had a nice holiday till you came back with the same old repetative venom,is there nothing else you can say.

That's because you are in the reality club
and not the Monk and Boro are a waste of space and Huddersfield are desperate club <laugh>
