Very good player. Would happily welcome him. I don't think Robins fans will be best pleased about that one if it comes to fruition.

Tomlin always plays well against us.

The comedy itk on the Cardiff City Forum is entertaining . Watch the bus go into reverse if this turns out to be untrue<laugh>

Its about time one of the rumours from there was correct though.

Hes reported back to Bristol City in very good shape apparently.

If he wants to leave he would do. It's what happens to his weight after he joins is the problem.

Just like the joke:

What's the difference between a girlfriend and a wife?

About 20lbs!

Warnocks talking of a being locked in talks to land a creative midfielder who would be an 'exciting capture.'

Well if it is Tomlin then that IMO is not an exciting capture but an underwhelming one.

Surely NW can find someone more dynamic, reliable and consistent than Tomlin.

Tomlin in my opinion is a fantastic buy for the club especially with Neil Warnock in charge, you have to remember that he's a master of man management and if anyone is going to keep the weight off him and the fire in his belly then it'll be Neil Warnock

I agree with NW's ability to man manage but whether he could be able to manage Tomlin is debatable. You only have to look at how many clubs he's already been with as evidence of his inconsistency.

One good season from him could be enough. 10's with Championship quality aren't easy to find. I see a figure of £7M (!!!) being mentioned for Tom Lawrence.
If Warnock can motivate him for 6-8 months this could be a very shrewd bit of business imo. On form he's the exact player we've been missing.

Hi guys - Bristol City fan in peace.

Seems like a lot of you already have the measure of Tomlin. On his day, he's an outstanding talent that can create something out of nothing.

There are accusations of laziness or lack of motivation, though I'm not sure if those are fair. Apparently he's had relationship issues at home which maybe coincided with his drop in form last season.

If you get the best from him them the reported fee will be a bargain, particularly in this day and age - if not, then Cardiff is just another stop on what is becoming increasing like a journey man's career.

Good luck for the coming season (bar a couple of matches naturally <cheers>)

I suppose the proof will be in the pudding but I for one is quite happy.
Yes the pudding he'll be scoffing<laugh>

I have my reservations (and still hope NW will sign a proper central midfielder to pair up with Gunner as Ralls doesn't do it for me) but wish him the best and good luck to him. A few early goals and he'll be a fans favourite.

Tomlin could be the signing of the season for City.

He posesses the creative midfield skills we desperatly need. If Warnock can bring that out and nail him with a responsibilty to the side, he could fire us toward the playoffs.

If Warnock can't do it. no one can. Should Tomlin bomb, he'll confirm a suggested journeyman status. He'll be lucky to get a better chance to kill that image off than under Colin.

Tomlin has undoubted ability. If he plays to that ability then hes a very good signing. The period he was on the pitch against us at our ground he was their best player by an absolute mile. Think his head went down there so hopefully he will be up for it with a much better squad.

Tomlin , Gunner ,Ralls looks a very good midfield 3 to me.

I think we look strong everywhere - my only worry is an injury to Big Ken.
