I can't believe the twats stance especially as he has visited the country. It does say Whisky on the bottle but the Thai's nigh on call everything Whisky but as Ive proved it is actually RUM. As it is 95% molasses it cannot be a whiskey by definition.

Whether you like it or not, it IS known and referred to as Thai whiskey. The weblink above shows this, as do countless others.

I genuinely don't care a **** whether you refer to it as such, nor whether it is actually whiskey, which I have never claimed, or whether it is made out of molasses.

We thought this was a whisky (it used to call itself whisky anyway) but further inspection reveals it to be a 'Thai spirit', which is distilled from around 95% molasses and 5% rice, then flavoured and coloured (thanks to diffordsguide.com for the info). So really, it's closest to a flavoured rum. Best when mixed long with plenty of ice.
