He comes across really well a very infectious personality combined with a lot of confidence. Now would he have come if the owners didn't give him some guarantees so for the next week or so I'm not going to get pissed off over the lack of decent signings. I'm going to trust the manager when he say 'supporters don't worry'
Is it me or does Burns love City to fail? ...last season he seemed to get off on the trials and tribulations and loved the flack flying about. Perhaps Blunderside need a new City reporter.
Did anyone see that lesser known species, Lenihan, today?!! Would we recognise him?? After the investment in him so far, we could really do with him coming good this season, fingers crossed, it's his season to shine and show what he has got.
He was definitely there Tigress... he wouldn't be on your bedroom wall replacing the picture of MS... I dont know who cuts Lenihans hair but it can't cost more than £8 and take 5 minutes..
Lots of young lads there, and you never win anything with kids so they say. Lots will rest on the experience shoulders of Dawson, Hudds, Meyler when fit and err, err. Hmmm. And all those touted for moves, Elmo, Robbo, Grosicki, Clucas, Jak, Abel. What of them? Really pleased to see Mason there although not really sure what part he will play this season.. Couldn't see McGregor or Marshall, or Dave / Moses. Got to love the enthusiasm of The Slut, but where's his team of coaches, his own hand picked men. Not people foisted on him? The departing words of Curtis Davies keep ringing in my ears : “When relegation comes, there’s a lot that comes with it,” said Davies. “Who’s going to stay and who’s going to go. After last summer and what happened with building our squad and knowing how many players the club was going to lose this summer, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be part of that mess again'. All still keeps coming back to the owners for me, gradually dismantling everything that had been built up over several years.
-> And all those touted for moves, Elmo, Robbo, Grosicki, Clucas, Jak, Abel. What of them? I'd be amazed if any bar maybe the odd one is still here come September. -> Got to love the enthusiasm of The Slut, but where's his team of coaches, his own hand picked men. Not people foisted on him? Agree, so refreshing to hear him talk. But I've been asking exactly the same question; as good as he may be, there simply isn't the needed support for him and strength in depth when it comes to his coaching team. -> All still keeps coming back to the owners for me, gradually dismantling everything that had been built up over several years. Agree with the first part, but not the second. Not so much their dismantling of it, more like their incompetence and pigheadedness. They've had unbelievable opportunities to build & cement something really special, but they've managed to **** it up twice now, and I fear they won't have chance of a third time lucky.
I think its really important Slut gets his Assistant in. I asked on another thread if anyone knew if this was happening. Visa problems had been mentioned. When the going gets tough and lets be honest it will get tough, to have a compatriot here to speak to in his own tongue, confide in, is going to be better than the 4 walls of his flat.
Dismantled by their incompetence and pigheadedness Driff. Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth. Unbelievable opportunities wasted.
Just you. I've met Burnsy and he's a decent bloke. I don't get all the knob heads on here showing genuine contempt for him.
I've met the big fella.. He's a decent bloke.. No dispute, but he seemed to go OTT (at times) and actually come across as enjoying the **** going on. Perhaps it's just me.
He might be a decent bloke but when your already feeling negative about city you don't need to be turning the radio on having to listen to all the negative talk he comes out with. He obviously has a issue with the allams like the fans but that should not come across a supposedly a non biased reporter
I think he's a bit of a knob. Swaggers round with the loudest voice in the room, incessantly doing his Sid James "YAK YAK YAK" laugh with the hilarious 'Swanny', so everyone knows he's there as if he's some kind of big-shot player. Someone should remind him he's got a morning show on Radio Humberside.
True Saw him on Sunday at a breast cancer awareness event in Cottingham. He spent plenty of time there and then drew the raffle. Top chap
