Not really because Leipzig need to buy more players to cope with CL demands .. Please stop digging yourself a hole
Wel Klopp has managed to convince Salah Keita and VVD to join. Now we need your mate Edwards to do the deaL.
That's the part you are missing. It's always been down to Liverpool not skimping... hasn't happened in the past
Local newspaper at Leipzig has said LFC's pending rumoured offer (breaking Bundesliga record) would be tempting for RB Leipzig
Liverpool hero Sami Hyypia is not convinced the Reds need to sign Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk this summer. “I think it’s important to strengthen the team every year,” he told 5times. “You need to think carefully how you do it, that the chemistry is right and everything. “I think nowadays the centre-backs are a bit different than before, that maybe the modern centre back, he is very good on the ball, he can play the ball, and maybe sometimes he has difficulties to defend. “And of course you need to defend in the game, you don’t have the ball all the time. “Van Dijk is a very good player, I like him a lot, I think he has very good qualities in every area of the game, but I don’t know if it’s essential to sign him or to sign a centre back.”
Sami obviously wasn't at the matches when Lovren shat his pants and conceded chance after chance! I've never know a top class footballer to get so rattled (other than Vidic when faced with Torres) - he's a bottler. Not a bad back up option or 3rd defender if we play 3 at the back but that's it for me. Shame really, if he had a set, he'd be a decent enough player.
He hasn't an ounce of defensive ability and has less football IQ than Moreno. I can't wait for him to go.
. Not a great choice to have to make. We badly need both....although Keita is not the DM that many think we need so without a top quality CB and a new LB we will still be exposed.... However, on the basis of 'build from the back', I'd choose VVD.
Like Markovic, Lovren, Carroll etc etc.... Klopp rarely buys a dodgy player. I'll have faith in him until he does
Yeah, he started off ****e, spent a year ascending to the giddy heights of poor and occasionally mediocre, and has now ended the season at the level of consistently dire (at best) , but frequently hopeless. His best (and we don't see that very often) barely adequate, his usual standard is Championship, at most, and often he is shambolic. If Sami really thinks he should be in our starting defence I'm astonished, unless he knows something about Sakho staying, playing alongside Matip and Lovren being relegated to third choice.
In all fairness, do we know whether VD has recovered fully from his injury? If he's the same player as last year he is awesome, imo, and comparable with the very best in the league. Worth the money - but worth the wait to see if he's fully fit? Hmm.
