you are actually quite inaccurate on this

    a) he joined southampton a full 2 years ago, played a full season very well then had the 5 you are focusing on per injury. it only took southampton 8 months to offer him a new contract.

    b) he also played well enough for celtic to attract southamptons attention. a les league yes

    c) he's also a dutch international

So your line about 5 months decency is just you deciding you don't want a 70mil CB and no matter what he's done or not done doesn't matter :)

I'd agree. professionalism is required at all times.

Pleayers who strop or cause issues to get out of clubs are a short term prospect at best. If yuo understand it and are heppy to be a stepping stone fine... but beware.

Suarez is a classic example. if you weight his great season agaisnt his antics... i believe the bite on ivanovic was to force a move btw.. he missed 21 games in suspensions... yet gave his all when playing.

We made about 40mil profit on him but did we really benefit or was damage down to our club... i dunno. We enjoyed his good stuff but how many playrs were put off us from his antics or were we hurt in those bad seasons... or was it our own amateur hour responses?

A good pro is always perferable cos for every one suarez theres ten robbie savages.... (in terms of whiny disruptive ****s)

    a) Yeah, because everyone was creaming themselves about him that first season at Saints like...

    b) did well in a **** league, thanks for confirming my point

    c) so are Milner, Hendo and Migs (a full internationals)

It's not that I don't think Van Dickface is a good player, he is and he'd certainly improve us. I'd like to see him in a Liverpool shirt but not for the crazy figures being quoted!

And by crazy figures, I'm referring to the original £40m-£50m bracket, not the ridiculous £70m+ an shambles!

    a) Saints gave him a six year deal, some of us paid attnetion to him :)

    b) he took his chance to move there, did ok and got his move to southampton. he can only play whats in front of him

    c) so?

I note you never denied what i said about your approach to this. you are anit the fee so making crap up about the player. whats your opinion of the players ability then?

    a) whoopy do, where was all the hype in the media like the first five months of this season? It wasn't there because he wasn't as good

    b) we're in agreement here #****league

    c) exactly!

Not made anything up, your trying to twist logic. Of course, you could argue that his first season at Saints is down to opinion, that is fact afterall.

You've just quoted me saying he's a good player ffs <laugh>

Why you paying for him with your own money?

If the club is willing to pay such fees, with owners like FSG who are looking for profits at the end of it, then we can afford it and it'll have been budgeted for.

Out of interest - why does the price concern you so much?

Why do people get hung up on prices when it's not coming out of our back pockets!

VVD is quality, if it takes £70m to get him then so be it. Only problem I have with that is if it stops us strengthening elsewhere then that'll then be a problem.

Not sure if I can see us spending £70m on both VVD and Keita

I'm sure you guys have never said anything about Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd spending vast amounts in the past...

    The amount is simply embarrassing.

Who cares about what rivals think? It's not their money, I'd be worried if we were spending such vast amounts on poor players but VVD is quality.

You don't hear city fans comlaining about spending £50m on De Bruyne after Chelsea rejected him, yet he's quality.

If we want to compete with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester city , Manchester united Arsenal and Tottenham we need very
good players. How to finance it don't ask me. Otherwise we have to wait again to qualify for champion League.

He proved himself in a decent league (referring to Salah here obviously)

I just don't like the figures in seeing (not just for Liverpool either). Thought they were ridiculous before but the current sums take the piss.

For the £70m on Van Dickface, we could sign three quality players from abroad. We could certainly get Sule & Neves and have change! (I know that's only two!)

I am gonna go way out on a limb
    Like proper twilight zone ****

We need a cb who is proven at pl level, all sorts of high value **** being bandied around.
We have a cb who is reasonable ( i actually rate him )
Why dont we sit them both the **** down and go dr phil on their ****
Then buy Keita in a way of apology to Klopp and make him stay.

Money is only talked about if he flops.

Pogba is only known as the price tag because of such an average season.

Bale and Ronaldos figures never get discussed.
