That's the one BB. The first three are the so called Ice Saints because their 3 feast days, 13th, 14th and 15th of May meteoroligally coincide with a drop in temperatures - more noticeable in central Europe than in Britain. The night of the 16th is that of St. Sophia - the 'Ice Woman', which is often the worst of all. The actual Ice Saints - or 'Eisheiligen' can come slightly earlier, or later, depending on the year, but are still known as such. When I first came to Germany I was unaccustomed to such a thing as possible frost in mid May - and was often caught unawares. I could not, initially, understand why the German gardening season started so late. Needless to say there is a meteorological explanation which has nothing to do with saints. Over to you.
