That first Stone Roses album is still one of the most important albums ever in British musical history.
Stone Roses were better. Oasis were the right band in the right place at the right time. I've said it before but that '96 Maine Road gig was epic. Very, very good times.
My favourite band of that time was The Wedding Present. Those David Gedge guitar slashes were a real icon of that Manchester scene
Yeah he is, so is Liam. Liam is a bellend though, Ian Brown less so, just. I grew up in Manchester as a Roses fan (although The Smiths piss on anything else that ever came out of town, ever) and am not so into Oasis but there's too much rose tinted bollocks about them. They released two good albums, one of which was great. Oasis did the same but also released loads more half decent stuff which the Roses never did.
Looks like its Eid tomorrow...just broke my last fast of the year.... Yeahhh baybee...gettin chonged!
Never really got into Oasis. I loved the Stones Roses, Wedding Present, The Fall, Inspiral Carpets. But I grew up in London, so the scene down here was Carter the unstoppable sex machine. Neds Atomic Dustbin, Sheep on Drugs.
Yeah, but they were still good. I'll give 'em that. George Best is a great album. The album cover is iconic!
With both Oasis and Stone Roses it was the first albums that smacked you round the head. The first listen of them was a "what the **** is that" moment, in a good way obviously!
