No complaints with that.

Got to play everyone twice, just a little problem for us in goal after signing a goalkeeping midget
I think you made a massive mistake in your wording when instead of maybe saying 'do you have to be tall to be a good keeper?' - which would have been a perfectly reasonable thing to say - what you actually said was 'does being tall really help?' - and where goal keeping's concerned there's only one answer to that. I'd go as far as to say it isn't even open for debate.

Howler by you of epic proportions <ok>

My view is that it does matter in terms of sequencing.. it hurts in pressure building up, it hurts in resource levelling etc etc.

Anyone who is an engineer on a project should know about resource levelling :)

If i have to play 3 top 4 sides over Christmas its a nightmare.

If i have to play say Brighton then i dunno dortmund in CK thats a different requirement to man city then dortmund.

Most of all, if all things are equal and you are chasing AHEM FOURTH and you have 5 easy games at end and your rivals have 2 or 3 hard ones i ntheir or meet each other things get easier

I would say that LFc season largely will be defind in Septemebr and october.

September has 3 away games and october has two tough top 4 games in a row aorund internationals. It looks like we play man u at home at least in mid october and then that will prob be our best players on a plane landing friday... heopefully it goes to sunday match.

It depends on whether we get the 2/3/4 African players we're being linked with and then it's January we have to worry about.

Not this upcoming season, ACON isn't an issue. Then I scroll down and see the earlier posts

No ACON next season

When it's back we will have backed up Mane and others with the players signed after our CL win

VVD can cover for the lads going to ACON and Salah will cover for Mane when he goes. <laugh>

Pickford is 6ft 1", Big Nev was the same height, and was the best in the World in his pomp.

Taller keepers find it easier to dominate their box from crosses but are often slower getting down to shots close to the body, so it is open for debate I'm afraid.

You are jumping in late Tobes my old duck.

It began from this:

Honestly, the worldies the lad was pulling off was something else. I'm not sure stoke would have let butland go but who knows. I guess the other thing with butland who looked brilliant before he got injured is that he got a serious injury and re-injured it again. Hopefully he can come back but no one knows how well he has recovered.

The only thing about pickford is his command of the area as he's a short keeper. His distribution is also something else

I questioned Pickfords ability to command his box (admittedly i've not seen him enough). PJ whether through jest (although he continued to hold that view) mentioned that does being tall even help your ability to command the box (just to be clear i'm talking about coming out to pluck balls out of the air from crosses and long balls).

Then a big debate happened. So from your response there, you agree with me and can agree PJ is talking bollocks

Just been watching some Pickford compilations

He is quite flappy, and loves to "dive" for shots that are straight at him

Anyway have a look yourselves, might be a hashtag in it

Being taller helps with crosses but it also depends on the spring and athleticism. We've had 2 6ft 5 keepers this season and they looked like they were wearing divers boots at times. I think height is merely a variable amongst other factors

He's no Karius

<laugh>

Certainly not, 3 clean sheets in 10 vs 4 clean sheets in 29 and 6 times more expensive
He was playing for Sunderland you bobble head and is widely regarded as the finest young keeper in the country, including by our best ever keeper, Big Nev.

Karius is absolute bobbins and was slated by all of you lot, as he was pyar gash
