You have to feel for Heaton. Two magnificent saves, two goals from the rebound. No-one is watching the second ball and to be quite honest I cannot figure out England's tactics. Gaping holes between the midfield and defense. Alli constantly out of position and Dier is sadly very, very poor at protecting his back line. Oxlade-Chamberlain has been invisible.
 
Well, The Ox is no central midfielder. No wonder he plays on the flank for the Gooners. Eric Dier is used to Victor Wanyama or Mousa Dembele alongside him, not this level of incompetence.

If Sterling could pass and shoot..... he'd be worth what Citeh paid for him and we'd be in the lead.

It's a pretty strong French side against a second string England defence and it shows.
The system looks a mess, too.
 
Is Southgate playing Walker at left-wingback because he saw Walker-Peters in the U20s?
