The 'cold' bit is an emotional and subjective comment that is irrelevant to his "ability" as a football manager IMHO.
The 'clinical' bit could be seen as an asset ... if only it were true! You know, like the part where he said he would pick by form and not reputation. You know, like the part where the press implied England would do far better under his authoritarian regime than the previous SGE one.
... if anyone ever needed proof that the best club managers do not necessarily make the best international managers.....
What he said is true from what I've hear, he doesn't often say anything to you that you need to improve he just stays quiet and if you don't read his mind, you're dropped.

Although at his age, and considering his LACK of achievements, the saving grace is it should be very short!

One thing that confused the hell out of me about Capello is that when he took over at Real Madrid, he recognised that there were negative influences in the dressing room - Raul, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos - so he got shot of two of them at the first opportunity. Yet for England, the negative influences in the dressing room are not just allowed to remain in the team, but also don't get sent home from the World Cup after mouthing off about the coach?

The problem is, the pool of players he would have been able to pick replacements from has dried up to a not very impressive puddle.

Somebody said it a while ago - if King and Woodgate weren't so injury prone, Terry wouldn't be England captain.
Are any of the four really that good or are they the sort of English centre half most teams in the old first division had two of? Granted, they are the best of their generation, but that generation is exceeding small!
England could drop virtually all of the so-called Golden Generation and barely feel it, in my opinion.
The only thing that they bring now is experience and that's tainted by their poor attitudes, club induced injuries and past failures.

After the Euros the whole set up will change. Capello will be off and I suspect many of them will retire from International football (Lampard, Gerrard and Cole probably)
He may be biting the hand that feeds him right now, but Walcott and all English players aspire to be a full international, even if it's just because it activates a clause in their contract that gives them more money. Some of them even think it's an honour to represent their country. Maybe he looks nervous because he is not used to what appears to be a more robust regime than Arsenal.
