I was down south golfing from thursday afternoon so thankfully missed most of the election malarkey ( i voted before going of course).

While i wasnt looking forward to the consequences of an out right victory victory for either party this is somehow worse.

****ing duppers with chips on the table now...and a westminster govt looking to suck their 18th century fanatical misogynist zealot cock...and thats just Arlene Foster....

Good times!

Swirling rumours (perhaps wishful thinking) that the 7 Sinn Fein MP's are going to Westminster for induction and MAY take their seats. Note: they no longer have to swear allegiance to the Queen to take their seat. Would bring down the Con/DUP alliance majority to 3.

IF (big if) this comes off (even if was just for confidence votes) what's your thoughts on that?

About bloody time...i have not and never will vote for SF (same with DUP) but they are elected to represent their constituents and should turn up to vote accordingly...the SNP and SDLP do. As you say allegiance oath no longer necessary (although always found that a hilarious sticking point when they all readily accepted the queens sterling be it as employees of the state or through the brew when too busy employed as terrorists lol)

If they want to stop Tory policy in NI then Westminster is the place to do it at the moment.

Also necessary to counteract in a legislative way the idea that the Tories will throw away any semblance of nuetrality (i know i know) in NI since the peace process.

Will make By-Elections incredibly tricky for Tories.

Also tactically smart. Highlights the DUP as stooges of the Tories back here.

The DUP are countering that stance by saying that Sinn Fein can and have formed alliances with governments in Eire in the past. Is this true (I don't know) and does that matter when we talk of 'honest brokers'?

Not so far..at least in official coalition govts in the Republic. Michaél Martin (Fianna Fáil) despises SF. A lot of distrust comes from SF historically not accepting the govt down south as legitimate anymore than DR up north. More recently due to the apparent double standard of accepting austerity measures through the NI Assembly yet campaigning against similar measures down South.

Up here we are in yet another period of political polarisation between the 2 largest parties (relative to the chuckle brother years of course) ...which has lead to no assembly work.

And with the added Brexit pressures focussing NI position yet again it would have been wise for any Westminster govt to give at least the appearance of seperation from NI parties.

DUP are of course creaming themselves at the idea. SF too to a certain extent...able to paint Brexit/English Govt/austerity and Unionism all in one bag and saying its impossible to stop through the assembly.

Dicey times politically...not as dire as some have tried to paint over here...i dont predict a return to pre agreement hostilities but little will get done.

False hope, alas. Just given a press conference to say it was in their mandate NOT to take their seats, and it was in the SDLP's to take theirs, but SDLP got no seats and they got 7, so that, it would appear, is that.

Austerity is economic suicide, just a transfer of disposable money from the majority/poor who would spend it in shops to the minority/rich who would move it to offshore accounts

For the same reason cutting public services (nurses/police) and other government-funding for things like science is insane - the government instantly gets about 40% of it back in income taxes and a big chunk of the rest in VAT, whereas employing MultiNationalGlobalOutsourceConsultancy to slash budgets puts **** all back into the economy

Ignored safety reports, ignored terrorist intelligence

How many people does this government need to let die

Maybe ripping up the building regulations is the answer?

And the disgusting PM uses the latest tragedy to cover up her inability to negotiate with 10 DUP MPs, yeah she's well qualified to handle 27 EU countries <doh>

Farron quits because being a Christian is incompatible with respecting people's rights

Classic case of a guy not actually understanding his religions central message.

Just cos past generations decided throwing sin around to control was good doesn't mean the central message was respected.

What type of diabetes does May have? Will she last a full march with her new buddies on the 12th July?

The type that makes you a total ****ing coward

I was going to compare her to [HASHTAG]#noshowmourinho[/HASHTAG] but she's in another universe it would be unfair even to that ****

She goes to Grenfell Tower and refuses to meet the families

Don't just resign, get out of the country and never come back
