Rowing is a sport where you sit down and go backwards, while one little guy tells eight big guys exactly what to do and when. I always thought his real purpose is to make the big guys put aside their petty differences in favor of mutually loathing him. Note that the motivation here is that if they win something they all get to throw him into the drink.
Just think, anyone tossing their cox into the Thames in the 1850s that would've been guilty of murder.

Hugo's all too often seen poor clearance has made the news feeds here in Oz.
Think the first item on preseason prep for Poch will be to get that out of his game.
Bloody embarrassing!
Mind you the finish wasn't too shabby.

He makes two bad mistakes in going too far out of his goal and then not booting it out of play--but blunders like this one are the occupational hazard of playing like an eleventh outfield player. I remember a Germany game where Neuer almost had his team down 3-0 in a matter of minutes. The way I look at it, we're doubly lucky that it happened while Hugo was playing for France, and that a high profile blunder does a certain amount to take the wind out of the sails of any transfer speculation.

Reactions: No Kane No Gain
The French international captain, the England occasional captain and the Belgian occasional captain in our team.

Scotland deserve a lot of credit, they played really well and were it not for shocking 'keeping with the opener, they might have got more from the game. In Gordon's defence, sun in Scotland counts as extreme weather conditions.

Lots of "okay" performances from England. Walker was probably the pick of the bunch but the problems at centre back still remain. Upfront we have a lot of talent but we really need more creativity from them. I didn't think Dier or Livermore were that bad but it really should be one or the other, not both. We'd be much better off trying Lallana a bit deeper to set the tempo for us. Delighted for Kane to score but the big plaudits go to Sterling for a wonderful delivery, didn't think he had it in him.

Work to do but it's better to find that out now, rather than at the tournment, as we usually do.

Reactions: The Changing Man
Looking at that game same old England made the jocks look good and more evidence of what's to come in Russia. As for man utd s Rashford I really hope we don't sign him on the display he gave today

Cahill was an embarrassment in giving away the free kick for the first goal. Rolling around on the floor like Didier Drogba, pretending to be hurt is appalling.

Giving away a second free kick straight after was ridiculous. I don't think that Hart could see the ball the first time which is a recipe for disaster.

Not great but we're going to qualify and then go out early, so who cares?

Only saw first half and thought we were crap
No rythem no apparent style of play and worst of all I thought Rushford was dire where every possible threat breaking down with him losing/giving the ball away
Surely Southgate had them together long enough for individuals to at least produce their club form
