Oh, fair enough. He's a decent MP but not a great party leader IMHO.
Paul Nuttall came 3rd for UKIP in his constituency. That's the first Tory win I've cheered.
He's a colossal ****. As is May, who has spectacularly, and, frankly, quite hilariously ****ed up, thinking she could just hold an election and grab more power. She's got everything she deserved.
She has to be finished as Prime Minister. Her credibility is in tatters.
I think she'll try to hang on. My impression of her is she is massively motivated by power and won't give it up easily (cue a resignation speech in the morning). But her party may tell her to go. The Tories will still be in power after all this though.
My bet is that we'll have another general before 2017 is out. May will go within the week, Boris will get in and will not want to be dicking around with minority government. But everyone will be thoroughly sick of the Tories by then for holding so many elections, and they will be roundly kicked out of power, making Boris the shortest ever termed PM.
It's definitely looking like the Tories will have a working majority in practice when you factor in the DUP support and take out the Sinn Fein seats. However, they have destroyed the position of power they had. Could be a very interesting next few months.
It should be Ruth Davidson leading the UK Tory party next if there's any justice in the world. They owe her their political skins as it could very well have been 309 or 310 without the gains north of the border. I'm more than happy for Boris to get the job though, as he's so easy to hate.
The BBC are still saying Tories will get 318 votes, but by my reckoning they will get 322 and that will give them a majority of one once you take out Sinn Fein's seven seats as they never attend parliament to vote.
They got 331 last time and have lost 11 seats at the minute which would put them on 320, but they will pick up 2 extra seats in Scotland still. With 10 DUP seats that looks like a working majority, but they will really struggle with centrist Tories over anything hardline. They aren't exactly known as the most loyal MP's in parliament.

Starting to look like they might retake Richmond too which would give them a majority of three.

I'm sick of the whole thing. I could rock up with a policy manifest of free ice-creams for the under 15's, an end to all war, offer the public full control of the weather and ensure my pending mass tax decrease still leaves the country £1 trillion richer.
So what if i can't fulfil? It doesn't matter. Once it turns out the party policies aren't enforced, there's just zero comeback. World's completely fcked, 'cos we're at the mercy of back scratching mercenaries. That ginger tw@t in the White House can lie to the FBI and nothing happens.
