See on SSN that our old player Chris Baird appears to be out of favour with the new Fulham management - he was a terrific & versatile defender

If he doesn't mind dropping his wages to fit in with our structure he would be a welcome addition IMO

Yes please! Only 29 I think so has some time left and could form a great partnership with the Fonte.
As you say, wages could be a problem - but he would be coming home and to a club on the up!

Think he'd fit in nicely alongside Fonte. Always thought Baird's best games for us were as a centre back, not a holding midfielder or right back.

Bairdy is also a top bloke, think he'd fit straight into our team ethic easily.

I would welcome Bairdy back, 4 years of Premier League experience and, as you say, can play CB or RB. I shouldn't imagine he was on massive wages at Fulham and It would be good to see 'one of our own' playing for the club again.

While it would be lovely to have him back, I seem to recall that he and Davis didn't quite have the loving relationship that a defender and a goalkeeper should. I seem to recall a few goals being scored due to his lack of trust in Kelvin. I am sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong.

Northern Ireland's finest! It would be great to see him back. Player Of The Season in 2006/07 I believe?

And goal of the season too? I have a review dvd, think it's 06/07 but not sure, and he scored an absolute thunderbolt!!

I think that would be fantastic... Not only for the team but for Arron Martin.. Baird recommended him and for Baird to coach would be fantastic for martins career :-)

It sounds like you have your Bairds mixed up....It was Ian Baird who recommended Martin from Eastleigh.

I'm a keen Baird watcher

I might be wrong but i think it was ex Saint and Current Eastleigh manager Ian Baird that recommended him to Saints.Might even have been Paul Doswell i can't quite remember.

I can't help but think that it would feel weird if he came back. He left just before we hit the bad times with admin etc and would come back when we're going through the good times. It would almost be like he was a 'plastic' player!

Don't begrude Bairdy going in the first place and I suspect he had a feeling that Saints had dark days ahead as Bale & Cranie also left around that time, so a move to a Prem team, which also meant he didn't have to uproot his young family was clearly a good move for him (I recall he turned down Sunderland and waited for Fulham to match their offer?).
