Kiwis need just over 100 from 7 overs. Not impossible, but a tough ask. Only two wickets down.
Comfortable win and top spot secured ahead of the game v Aussies at the weekend.
Hope we don't rest anyone knowing we have top secured, such tight turn around times between games that want to carry that momentum on.
Roy failed again though... Bairstow must be wondering how he doesn't get a game.

I think Roy will get the next one, but if he ****s up, he'll be gone![]()
Can you drop someone and throw new player in for the semi? Be a big call. I don't think they'll drop him at all as no natual opener to go in and replace him.

It's one day cricket. You don't need a 'natual' opener FFS
Where's the final table?![]()
Who would you open with? Root would probably do a job as he's always in early anyway but it's a different mentality.
Ill sort it at weekend,
It's a different mentality in test cricket. Root and move people up, bringing Bairstow in.
You are right. Odi requires 8 or 10 an over now. 6/over =300. 8 and over is a good target.
You cannot hang round at all so i think probably form and ability with new ball is most important.
Putting root in for roy and putting bairstow in is no bad thing. Itd be good for hitting big and hes abilty v spin has grown hugely.
Thats the only thing I'd suggest if we do, but if we do it need to do it v Australia to give Bairstow and Root some practice and not just drop Roy at semi stage.
