It's amazing that after every one of these atrocities there follows numerous arrests, almost within 24 hours

All of them are obviously 'known to the authorities', and there are hundreds of them out there

They ALL need to be rounded up NOW, every single one of them on the list, and questioned on a guilty till proven innocent basis

No more of this pussyfooting around till the next inevitable attack occurs, if they're known to have links to Islamic State, or have flown out to Syria and returned to the UK, lock them up and throw away the key. Don't leave them free to wander the streets ffs

****ing annoys the hell out of me. How many more innocent men, women and children need to die before those who are supposed to protect us toughen up and actually do something about it?

Enough is enough is just the latest soundbite, they don't want to infringe their 'human rights'.

You don't get put on one of these bloody terror lists for no good reason. All reaction, no prevention with our government sadly.

If a dozen MPs were blown up or stabbed to death perhaps that might be considered 'enough is enough'.

Sorry to be a downer but I'm expecting another attack this week given the election is coming up. Sincerely hope I'm wrong.

The police themselves have said the main guy was being investigated but they had to reprioritise due to a lack of resources. Is that simple enough for you?

It doesnt matter what the laws are if you have nobody to police them. If you cant grasp that then vote tory.

Their is one small flaw in your argument here

Police budget under Labour in 2010 £2.8bn
Police budget 2017 £3.7bn

Shut the door on your way out ;)

So we both agree thats a real terms cut then..
But the point i made was police numbers have fallen. Both the number of police officers as a whole and armed officers are down. Or do you think the police and tory government are making it up?

You could have another 30.000 coppers on the payroll, it wouldn't stop these savage doing these kind of atrocities, its the limp wristed ****s running the show that is the problem, they're too scared to tackle it head on

So vote the ****ers out then....

Would love to see your source for that.

This independent charity says that since 2010 there has been a headline drop in funding of 18% (was 25% drop in government funding, recovered to 18% be raising funds locally).

It further says that from 2001-10 there was an increase of 31%.

https://fullfact.org/crime/police-funding-england-and-wales/

Presently I'm inclined to believe the independent charity that provides sources, but prepared to be convinced otherwise with more than a simple bare post on here.

We would have 10,000 extra police who would only be allowed to tell terrorists off.

The powers are largely there, but nobody has the time and resources to enforce them.
That means no time to do proper checks at borders, no time to do background checks, no time to gather intelligence on the street and no time to be out and about on street as a detterent.

As a three examples.
Theresa May as home secretary scrapped control orders and replaced them with much weaker powers,

Theresa May outsourced the border agency to private complanies such as Capita. Any private companies first duty is to deliver a profit for shareholders.

The labour government 97-08 brought in the pointless pcso role as police numbers had been cut so much by majors government because we couldnt afford to employ proper coppers, a huge mistake. Theresa may has increased the proportion of uniformed staff that are pcso as home secretary and pm, and she has introduced private companies into huge parts of what used to be the police service all reduce ploice numbers and siphon money to pay share holders ot generate profit.

I see the Tories are looking at bringing in new laws to restrict the movement of people on watch lists, and I see the liberals and Corbyn have already started shouting about the Terrorists human rights <doh><doh> no surprises there then.<yikes>
