The acquisition of Van Dijk's replacement, Ruben Semedo (22) is seemingly closer after Saints agreed to pay the asking price of roughly £12m.

VVD must have a very poor agent linking him with Liverpool. Surely VVD would want to join Real Madrid, after all Ramos is not getting any younger!!

Why would his agent want him to (potentially) only one make further move in his career? Much better for the agent's bank account that he is first involved in transferring Virgil to (say) Liverpool, and then in a couple of years get involved in another transfer to (say) Madrid.

We allegedly tried to sign Schar from Hoffenheim in January.
