A fellow City fan:

Sent @Fourth_Official a tweet asking about any news. His reply in a PM was:

"not much atm, think Leicester will dip into the Prem loans near the end, when clubs name their 25 man squads".
I'd say this is very likely.

So...who do we want and who do we think it will be?

In fact just throw any 'realistic' names out there and we'll compile a list as long as your arm. Luckily I think we've just about got as many midfielders as you can have without them running out of oxygen, and we seem sorted in defence (though I'd love Tunchev for back up) so that limits the names (unless Sven is thinking of playing a defender up front, wouldn't surprise me at the moment).

I'll start off with the name everyone has mentioned when this subject's come up - Carlos Vela. My feelings on him are surely he would be loaned to a Premiership club if at all.

Also I must reiterate I think we've made an error to wait til the end of August before bringing in key signings.

I want us to buy Maynard and the loan another striker from the prem. Someone like Pacheo at Liverpool or Vela from Arsenal will do nicely

Bit off topic but Sergio Aguero. What a player, I think Sven should use his Man City links and get him moved down here

He isnt even match fit yet. They have people like Adebayor and Santa Cruz surplus to requirements aswell, that just shows the class of Man Citys strikers. Balotelli, Tevez, Dzeko and Aguero

You won't be surprised to know I've never heard of him, but it's a name, that's progress. And he plays for Man City so surely he can't be that bad (ahem McGivern ahem).

BTW am I being optomistic to think Sven will buy/loan a winger and play him out wide in the front 3? Tell me now if I am so I'm not disappointed.

I have heard of him before, 10 games 15 goals for his country isn't bad though!

I always thought Santa Cruz was overrated, but would score goals in the Championship I'm sure. Wouldn't solve our problem of no pace though, which is hindering our attempts to construct moves and chances.

I really think it would be a shame to loan players in their early 30s when we've had the chance and the means to capture young promising exciting forward players.

We really need some pace in the team, I can't bare to watch another slow, dull, unimaginative performance.

It's unfair to say Nugent has no pace.

Considering it wasn't a problem when we had Fryatt and Howard and even last season when we had Yakubu.

But Yakubu does have pace when he chooses to use it. Sadly he chose not to a lot of the time and it WAS a problem. There were plenty of games where lack of movement and pace cost us. Often Naughton got us out of jail by bombing up the line and supporting and scoring (something our fullbacks won't do as much).

In any case our forward line needs pace out wide, we can't be playing Vassell and Dyer out there anymore. Ideally it would have pace in the centre as well, but we need it somewhere and we haven't got any of it at the moment.

It wasn't a problem when we had Fryatt and Howard up top because we weren't aiming for the top 2 in the Championship, and we were playing **** football mostly then.

Nugent isn't exactly lightning quick and he wouldn't be my first choice if we had made the right signings. He's not done an awful lot wrong and hasn't had much to work with but in any case I think we should have got better in by now.

I agree we need fast tricky wingers who can cross the ball.

We havn't had one for ages.

Routledge, Townsend ect. That type of player
