You're spot on re JM playing a deeper role in the 2nd half V Leipzig and when JM drew the penalty, he handed the ball to Cantwell, so he could score on his birthday!! I'm pretty sure he's more than capable of making the step up.
I really like the look of Madders but his size would worry me at CM, not sure he would be able to tackle back as well as Howson, although played along side someone like Thompson/Tettey he may not be required to.
I've always seen Maddison as an AM, but it's possible he might play at CM as well. Like Suffolk, my doubts would be about the physicality of CM and the fitness required. If as JMF said some time back, Farke likes to play a 4-1-4-1 formation, Maddison might fit into the middle two there. I just hope Howson doesn't leave. Dorrans might well move on to Rangers for the £1.5m being mentioned and then I think a new CM could come in with a style that suits DF.
RyBen has been confirmed at Wolves, interested to see how he gets on there. Their transfer policy is very odd.
It seems so. Thought I would be upset at this news as I am a big fan, but he has given us years of honest endeavours, so not begrudging him a move to pastures new.. Probably get £6-8m for him, which will help in our summer recruitment.
*Oxymoron alert* They've clearly not spent much time watching him over the last 2 seasons! http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/06/01/ryan-bennett-explains-decision-to-join-wolves-this-summer/
After the relief of finally having a new HC, the news about Howson makes me feel that the uncertainty about next season is increasing. Farke is untested at top level management (but so was Lambert when he came to us) and now one of our most consistent players could be leaving, along with Dorrans perhaps. That means that both CM and defense will be made up of new, presumably lower-cost players coming in. That could be a fresh start and new energy in the side or it could leave us vulnerable. While new defenders will be welcome, there is now likely to be more uncertainty about the cover they will receive from midfield and how long it will take new players to gel. It could go well or it could go badly and that's where the uncertainty comes in. Huddersfield did very well this season, but that was the second under the SW regime and we may now face a longer-term turn around. Will our fans be willing to wear that?
Not a rumour any more. Marley Watkins has been confirmed on a three year deal. First signing by the new regime.
And here's the confirmation: https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2017/june/marley-watkins-signs/ (Apparently some club down the A140 were also after him but we beat them to him)
Not sure if this has been brought up before, a CB from Lincoln: https://www.clubcall.com/norwich-ci...ggett-has-b350000-release-clause-1853068.html £350,000 release clause so affordable, but whether he's any good, and whether we're attractive enough, are likely to be the issues.
Ragget sure does sound dynamic but can he speak more than one language and does he have a footballing philosophy?
Spotted Duncan in the states today, looks like someone has taken a bite out of him. Was he there scouting overseas players.
I liked Farke's response to Watkins signing: "Marley played brilliantly last season and is proven at this level. He scored ten goals and got nine assists, and can play either as a forward or on the wing. He’s physical and a good character who gives us another option in attack. I’m really looking forward to working with him." Welcome aboard Marley!
