So after living away from Nelson's county for more than 30 years, with retirement approaching in a couple of years, my missus and me have decided up sticks and come home. Just agreed the sale of our house and purchase of a cottage in Carbrooke... Hmmm "Carbrooke Canary" sounds like a good name. Looking forward to attending Carra rud on a regular basis from next season!

Congratulations Carbrooke its great that you are fulfilling your dream! I am planning to move back to Suffolk next year after spending the last 14 years in Sussex. I do miss the mother county as nothing else really compares.

Born in Norfolk but dragged kicking and screaming to Suffolk aged 4 years due to my father's work, left home and Suffolk aged 16 years and 4 months, only ever returned sporadically to visit Mater and Pater and made sure I had a necklace of garlic for the duration! <laugh>

East Anglia is by far the best part of the country and I'm sure that's something that we can all agree on! <laugh>

I'm currently in the 6th year of missing it out in Australia. My wife who had never been to the UK let alone Norfolk loves it. We hope to move back some day, but there is no direct plan yet

As I live in Suffolk, I have witnessed the severe decline of Ipswich Town Centre, it used to be a reasonably pleasant area but has recently become a town where my Mum is scared to walk around on her own. They are starting to invest in the town again, the Buttermarket has recently been remodelled but the culture of the town has been destroyed.

Nothing compared to the beauty of Norwich City Centre, fortunately I live almost half way between the two so I go to Norwich for any shopping etc.

I completely agree with you SC! Ipswich is a right ****hole and I wouldn't live in Ipswich if you paid me! <ok> I'm thinking of moving to the Stour Valley around Sudbury or East Bergholt but I also love the countryside around Newmarket. Decisions! Decisions!
