Good Luck <ok>

A large salad (as it is so fecking warm here) scoring 9/10 - just what the doctor ordered. Lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, tuna, pasta and sunflower/pumpkin seeds.

Yep, hot as hell here too. We had a Bayrischer Wurstsalat, enhanced with peppers and a special homemade sauce! Plus...........never mind! Have to give the good lady 10/10,

19:20 Newton Abbot - Kublai

(Trust me to pick a wild-looking 17-runner handicap hurdle today. Selection had not shown any form at all for over one year until a fair run LTO at Uttoxeter 10-days ago. 5/1 generally available at time of writing. This is a poor event, and a repeat of this last effort in which he finished 5th after a so-so run towards the end of the race, should see him in the mix. Kingston Mimosa has form of sorts but his fitness has to be taken on trust after a 155-day break. Small e/w saver though on KM, plus an equally small R/F with selection).

Very true, Stick, that was a poor choice! :emoticon-0101-sadsm

(Time for a little break...<laugh>).

Edit: You know, blaming jockeys is not something I often do, just not my style as I know very little about riding a horse let alone a racehorse! However, the ride given Kublai was indeed, if nothing else, 'interesting'? Take a look on ATR replay if you have a minute. He's last early on so easy to spot.

I watched it at the time mate. He held him up and then went the long way round the whole way. It looked more in the "tricky customer" bracket rather than the "dubious tactics" one to me though.
Your reasoning was sound and on a different day the same criteria would have found you the winner who was also some way "well in" on old form. Just needed an enterprising ride which is what it got.

Yes, have to agree there, Stick, the horse falls into the 'tricky customer' bracket. Woe is me; trust me to find one of those! <laugh>

The 'enterprising ride' came from the winning jockey, fine ride by the lass, and a gutsy performance from her willing partner too! <ok>
