Not even the bloody papers have linked him with prem teams. Prem teams dont want to pay 5M+ because his injury past, they want someone a little more proven in the prem for that price
Im only telling you the facts,is he good enough personally not sure, but he is one of the best in this division without doubt.
what do you mean Andy Carroll at 35 million plus, who scored more than him the season he went to Liverpool,i let you think on that one!
Im not saying he isnt good enough, i think he is good enough for the prem from what i have seen of him but with his injury past 5M+ is too much to pay especially as he only has 1 year on his contract. Put yourself in a prem manager shoes. Do you pay 5M+ for a striker who may be injured more often then not and has never played in the prem or do you get someone who is proven in the prem without the injury past Chelsea only want 3M for Daniel Sturridge and someone can take him on loan for the season
I wonder what Sturridge is earning?,I say the guy is worth 3 million,Maynard was not injury prone, his particular injury needed a long time to heal. The boy is class, and worth 6 million quid, score goals where ever he plays,a natural.
Players have done it in the past. Look at David Nugent for example, he was class for Preston, scoring goals and got himself in the England team, he didnt have the injury past Maynard did and he struggled for Portsmouth. There is many other examples Earnshaw, Marlon King, Chopra and Dave Kitson to name a few. Just because he scores in this league dont mean he will in the prem
Tough place to go, but a good time to play them before they gel (half-full not half empty!!) Let's hope for an improved performance to give some much needed confidence
2 teams needing confidence imo, its either going to be a "bouncing back" win for Leicester, or a "kick-start" for BC
You will need to play as well as reading did on Saturday to get anything! That's the best away team I have seen at our place for ages. There defending was first class, and the 2 goals where quality. Reading keep playing like that and there autos for certain. Back to our game tomorrow, I'm going for an edgy first half and a poor showing from both attacks (I hope I'm wrong thou) Leicester to edge a 1-0 win. Here's hoping for a entertaining game!!
He'll be at a league one club if he's got that attitude Anyway, it really is pointless making predictions for this game, we can all see that Bristol are in disarray at the moment. By all accounts we should be desperate to put things right and I'm convinced we'll be better than against Reading. On the other hand this is Leicester we are talking about. Whenever we get our hopes up we get disappointed. Whenever we look on our knees and things are blowing up in our faces we pull something out of the bag. I don't know why it's that way, but it is. Therefore, although everything is screaming towards a Leicester win, I think it's pretty likely we'll have another shocker on Wednesday leaving us all in despair, then we pick up an unforseeable win at Forest. I think it will eventually click for Nugent and he'll start banging in a few (he has hit the post twice in 2 games after all) but whether it's in this game I don't know. It's all down to Sven's team selection for me, another negative lineup with no support for Nuge and it'll be another frustrating evening. Just going by the goals Bristol have conceded so far they look so much less organised and drilled than Reading and even Coventry, so I'll go for a 2-0 win. But the otherside of me says 1-1.
Carroll already proved to be an asset in the Premiership before he was signed by Liverpool. Maynard has no Premiership experience. I'm not saying that makes Carroll worth £30m more than him in my mind, but it counts for a lot in the real world. It's the same with our Andy King, he's clearly one of the most promising talents in the league and scored 15 from midfield last season, but we've seen very little interest for him thus far. Just because he's good enough for the Premiership and wants to play there doesn't mean he'll be snapped up by a Premierhisp club.
You're 2 league's below us both, I don't think anyone is getting confused. I could get all out my collar for Bristol CITY fans calling themselves CITY on this forum, but I'm not going to!
Think Bristol will be fired up on Weds and maybe more organised, agree with earlier post, they said that it looks like it is a stuck on Leics win! therefore 1-1 or 2-2 draw!
Why is a Bristol Rovers fan even on here. It was great seeing all their fans when Bristol came here when we was in league 1. They was winning up until the 90th minute and then Matty Fryatt scored 2 in the last minute. priceless
Oh yeh, that jammy little **** scored 2dodgy goals. Anyway, you are so brilliant that you only just beat little ol bristol rovers on both occasions!
Have some manners, there's Bristol Rovers fans present. In fact I think we should all remember to add 'City Football Club' to the end of Leicester in the future, there might be some Tigers fans around.
