QF's in their first (and only) season in it was a cracking effort.

Absolutely.

I've paid my compliments, along with everyone else.

I was merely making the point to some cocky Fox, that despite Spurs not winning anything this season (which everyone already knows, so it is completely pointless pointing it out), we will be completing in the CL, and LCFC won't.

Spuds were an embarrassment to English football in both comps.

"Embarrassment" is clearly too strong a word.

My way of putting it is that we went out of both competitions with a whimper.

It's great news that United have sneaked into the CL, next season, through the back door of the Europa League.

We must, of course, always bear in mind that the Europa League is the competition that clubs drop down too because they are not good enough to compete in the CL.

United finished 6th in the Prem, because they were not good enough to finish in the top 4.

Mourhino was out-Klopping Klopp with his celebratory antics at the final whistle. His behaviour was quite unseemly, but it was clear that he was ecstatic - and quite rightly so, I suppose. After all, he had probably saved himself from the sack.

My question to you lads is this. Has that win, last night, papered over the cracks at United under Mourhino?

United's season has been far, far more successful than yours. Word it however you like.

I think a lot of us on here is looking forward to the day when Poch & Spurs win the title of a European title, so that we can finally put to bed all the pointless and repetitive talk of "Yeah, well, what have Spurs won, huh?" and we can all concentrate on discussing just how good this Spurs team really is.

Yeah, that's quite right.

Might as well shut this thread till then, eh? And indeed, not start anymore getting your bollocks out until such time also.

The media is, of course, going into hyper-drive over the Manc win.

They are asking the question: "What next for Mourhino and United?"

I'd like to have a crack at answering that.

First off, for Mourhino, well done for avoiding getting sacked! You've managed to bungle your way through to at least another Season at OT.

Secondly, for United, I think it's about time you finally managed to get to the CL on merit, and finish in the top 4 again. If you found it difficult to do it this season, next season is going to be an absolute killer, with the distraction of CL footy! Sure, you are probably going to end up trying to defend your Europa League title (after dropping down into that competition from the CL), but I am deeply concerned that The Lucky One is going to, yet again, sacrifice your domestic form.

I'm not sure what you lads think about that?

it was definitely embarassing. Out of the CL by the 5th game. Lost to Belgium minnows in the EL. There is no other way to describe it.

Only if you're a spurs fan :P. I think everyone knows how good the spurs team is, it's pretty special. Still not special enough to win any cups though. Maybe this golden period will bear some fruit next year
