It's great news that United have sneaked into the CL, next season, through the back door of the Europa League. We must, of course, always bear in mind that the Europa League is the competition that clubs drop down too because they are not good enough to compete in the CL. United finished 6th in the Prem, because they were not good enough to finish in the top 4. Mourhino was out-Klopping Klopp with his celebratory antics at the final whistle. His behaviour was quite unseemly, but it was clear that he was ecstatic - and quite rightly so, I suppose. After all, he had probably saved himself from the sack. My question to you lads is this. Has that win, last night, papered over the cracks at United under Mourhino?
No, it hasn't. The next transfer window will paper over the cracks, last night was simply winning a major European trophy to add the countless others sat in our rather full cabinet. Maybe we could borrow your empty one to accommodate it?
Obviously, I'm not expecting the Manchester lads to be able to contribute anything constructive to this thread. By all means post away, lads, but I hope you forgive us if we take your comments with a pinch of salt. This thread is aimed at us neutrals, who will be able to take an objective view of things from a distance.
Arguably they are more successful than Spurs Liverpool and City this year, Though the success or failure of their season came down to 1 match, they still won it and will attract significantly better players because of it, also the boat loads of cash they will offer.
Couldn't give a stuff about Man U or Spurs myself. But the OP is clearly guilty of what, in the fight game, is known as leading with the chin.
Whether it's next season or not, Utd will keep pissing money at it until they get it right - sort of. It's what they do....
Spuds finish 2nd win nothing UTD finish 6th win 2 pieces of silverware, but its papering over the cracks, shocker.
What a **** thread as usual. Now I'm not the biggest admirer of Man U historically or Jose but it's an English team in Europe and after what the city has been through this week it's really pleasing to see them win. I'm sure they'll make it further than certain English teams in next year CL. Congratulations on completing the set Man U and for uniting your City
Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal success or failure came down to 1 match on the last day of the season so no different to Man U except Man U got a trophy at the end.
We got to the CL on merit. United got there through the back door by beating dustmen and gas-fitters, and a schoolboy Ajax side. I am not bitter, in the slightest.
