While Cesc Fabregas has gain widespread plaudits for his 12 assists this term, his xA tally of 5.88 tells us that the Chelsea midfielder has benefited massively from the conversion rates of those on the end of his passes.

Pogba, meanwhile, has a 6.75 xA score. That means that Pogba’s true value to United in terms of assists is nearer seven than the five which were converted. Were his team-mates able to finish with a similar success rate to Fabregas’ Blues colleagues, perhaps people would be judging his world-record transfer through different eyes.

Fabregas is a [HASHTAG]#fraud[/HASHTAG] passing to people who shouldn't score but then do

Pogba was robbed he should have 7 assists for the season not 4, then he'd be worth £89m for sure
Fabregas has a lot to learn. If he can just work out how to pass to people who don't score he'll be nearly as good as Pogba.

Many cup competitions, such as the FA Cup, decide the stage you enter based on where you finished in your league competition the previous season. It avoids flooding the calendar with huge numbers of fixtures.

In the case of the CL:
Chelsea (1st) enter in the 5th round (group stage)
Liverpool (4th) enter in the 4th round (play-off round)
Everton (7th) don't enter

So Liverpool are not in the champions 'league'. Just the KO round.

Ok....

So it goes.

1st to 4th round of the we dont kbow what to call it champions thingy

Then the 5th round = the champions league

Then the r16 and onwarss is the champions ko challenge?

Im glad you clarified all of this for us given no other club has ever entered it before.

Everton is also in Europe, though not CL. They were unable to get a draw from 10 men Arsenal.

A win wouldn't have changed a thing. Plus we are not in the Europa Leage yet, likle Liverpoolwith the CL we didn't fully qualify

Alexis Sanchez is very demanding and difficult to manage at Arsenal, says Martin Keown
Martin Keown has claimed Alexis Sanchez as "difficult to manage" and "very demanding" at Arsenal.
Arsenal have endured a difficult season, finishing fifth in the Premier League table and yet another round-of-16 exit from the Champions League by Bayern Munich.
Having scored 24 goals and assisted 10 this season, Sanchez has been the standout performer for the Gunners despite a string of on-pitch disappointments in north London and increased pressure on Arsene Wenger.
Although the ex-Barcelona man is a fan favourite, former Arsenal defender Keown says Sanchez is "demanding" behind the scenes.
He said: “I think he's a difficult man to manage.
“I did turn up at the training ground once - and it was one of his days off but he suddenly turned up and he was bouncing around the training pitch.”
“They were having to facilitate him and put a training session on for him. That can be a good thing but he's a very demanding individual.”

Sanchez is a winner - of course he will demand more from those around him. If people don't like that, then they aren't fit to be at a big club.

What a crock. He's trying to suger coat the bitter pill that their best player is leaving.

Thy guy has high standards and expectations which why he is leaving Arsenal. Will probably end up a Bayern winning titles and competing at the sharp end of the CL.
He can always watch le arse on the telly on Thursday nights.

Without him, they'd of been fighting Everton for 6/7th

How about: "Four Knockout Rounds That Do Not Really Count Followed By Eight Champions Leagues Followed By Four Knockout Rounds That Definitely Do Count"

Or shall we just stick with "Champions League"?

There are nine rounds in the Champions League and only one stage is actually in a league format! What on earth were UEFA thinking of?
I think PJ should write to them and roundly chastise them for their sloppy approach to nomenclature.

I remember plenty of Kopites saying that we never made it to the CL after losing in the qualifier.

Seems that now doesn't apply.

yup. the only issue i see there is explaining to the guy that he needs rest and being man enough to send him home to sleep.

Its deffo a loss to them. he's prob the only reason really tey have done anything recently

You didn't qualify at all never mind 'fully' - you got it by default <ok>

We got in for the qualifiersbecause United were excellent in a cup. Liverpool got in for the qualifiers because United were terrible in the league.

So we both have Jose to thank for not fully qualifying

correction.

you got in cos arsenal and cheslea got to fa cup final AND utd won the league cup.

We got 4th cos we got more points that arsenal usually do (PHACKT) and utd didn't win the league strangely. I think you'll find your wummery would be more effective if we'd got 66 points not 76 in this regard. 75 points for arsenal is a record for a team not to get cl QUALIFIERS :) in the prem :)
