My daughter was there on Thursday for Take that. Over the years, like many parents I'm sure, I've taken my daughter and her friends to the MEM many times, sometimes going in with her (Busted sticks in my mind - louder than a Zep concert, as i remember), but often seeing them in and arranging to meet them at the steps/foyer later for pick up. My daughter's friend and fellow nurse was there last night, and went to a hotel afterwards spending the night treating victims. It was she who told my daughter @ 1am that they were treating shrapnel wounds - then we knew it wasn't a gas cylinder explosion associated with the balloons.

My thoughts are with those parents whose children will never come home. And to the wonderful people of Manchester too, who, as I was being told in the small hours of this morning, were throwing themselves and their homes open to help.

sometimes i despair of the human race then realise that was one person whose evil was outnumbered hundreds of times by the actions of the people of Manchester

RIP <rose>
This is the tragedy. The overwhelming majority of people in the world, of any race or religion or whatever, just want to be able to live their lives in peace. It's only takes a relatively small number to destroy that - whatever their motivation, be it misguided political or religious aims, or just plain psychosis.

It's gone on in one form or another since the birth of humankind. Doesn't make this any less tragic.

Reactions: Bumps
It's not a surprise, it's not shocking, it's not unanticipated, but it also is.

It's not religion and it's not strength and it's not competence. It's predatory nastiness, malevolence, neurosis, jealousy. It's nihilism, it's mental illness, it's their own despair and desperation transferred to innocent others in the most disgusting and cowering way.

Time and again they commit these heinous, abhorrent acts and time and again people and communities globally respond exactly the same way, by joining together en masse, by helping, supporting, persevering and remaining free.

It is religion, it is a demonic fundamental interpretation of the Koran, it is a death cult that should be wiped off the face of the earth, the sooner we face up to the issue instead of hiding from it the better, sick and tired of our politicians empty words, time to take action home and abroad.

Targeting a little girls pop concert!!! Cowardly scum is what they are, listen to the silence from the UK Muslim community, ISLAM is the evil...............<ok>
