Certainly not all of them canario. I hope Bassong is replaced with a quality left-sided CB and Dijks would in effect be a signing if it happens, but if it doesn't, we'll need a new LB. Those would be the priority signings, IMO, and after that we'll probably be looking at low cost options like Adeyemi or another at DM and another striker, perhaps on loan. Obviously if players leave other lower-cost players could come in as we adjust the squad for the Championship. The good news is that young players should get more chances with a senior squad down to the low 20's.
When I said that they won't be replaced I meant in terms of overall numbers. Not that we wouldn't buy another player for the position they covered. I'm sure that we have to be looking to strengthen our defence, but I think in order for that to happen a player still at the club would need to go.
Anyone fancy Defoe for free - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39897361 Sunderland boss David Moyes says it is "hard to take" that Jermain Defoe has a relegation release clause in his contract that will allow the England striker to leave for free this summer.
Grant Holt has been released on a 'free' we should offer him a five year contract and the number nine shirt
Has he really!? Again! I'd sign him up, have him as a player coach! He loves the club, loved the area. He has a house where his family are based here. He's experienced all levels, highs and lows. He reminds me of Hucks. He totally feel in love with the club and the area. And was a legend. Huckerby, Holt, Hoolahan, Martin, Gary Holt all as coaches/player coaches. I love the sound of that.
Looks like Charlie Taylor is off to WBA for 3-5 M. Very cheap for him, if true. Fantastic signing for WBA if it goes ahead. Talking of LB's, Robertson from Hull to Liverpool would be very smart business by Pool, if that rumor is true.
Me too. He has three young daughters and her indoors wanted them to do their schooling back oop north. You can take the boy out of Cumbria but you can't take Cumbria out of the boy!
Really? To me that sounds like everything that's been wrong with our club in the last few years. We should be trying to recruit the best coaches we can get, regardless of their history. "Jobs for the boys" is the last thing we need. Grant, Wes and Rusty have negligible coaching experience between them. If they want to coach at a club of our stature they should be proving themselves elsewhere like Gary Holt has done. There's probably a hundred coaches already in the football league with better CVs than our current and ex players.
I thought we had dibs on any talented Leeds players? that model was working well for us why have we abandoned it the last few seasons?! We bloody need a LB as well.
I can only assume Hughton hasn't seen too many of his performances this season. One of the weakest links - in the championship, never mind upgrading him to the Prem http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...s-ryan-bennett-touted-with-brighton-1-5018170
And I thought I was the only one that thought a club such as ours deserved professional experienced coaches.
They all have to do their coaching apprenticeship and get experience before we can even consider them, and others like them, for a coaching role at Colney.
I know I've said it, but all strictly tongue-in-cheek, as I'm sure most on here are We just like to get the occasional bite, that's all. please log in to view this image
