14 games 5 goals is better than 1 in 3. Good championship player but no better than that. There's worse players we could have and probably do have to be honest

We need a lot better than a 34 year old average Championship player.
No but I also don't think 3 of those 4 will be here next season. He's undoubtedly capable at the level we will be playing next season. I don't think we'll buy him mind but I do think there are far worse championship forwards out there
5 in 14 for a striker in the Championship is nothing to shout about and why did he only play 14 anyway?

Well you weren't keen were you? you were very vocal about him around the time of this thread. I got what you meant though, I was just taking away all the reasoning and putting it together in plain text. Just thought it was amusing.
They'll always be worse players, but, I hope we are setting our sights a little higher.
I want us buying players that could possibly step up if we get promoted. Murphy couldn't do that.
I just think we need to get experience at that level coupled with those who might step up. Not saying I want Murphy mind, that ship has sailed. But a few of his ilk would do no harm to us on the whole
Bear in mind his appearances included a lot of late subs so not much time on the pitch. His minutes per goal this season is around 200 I think which is bloody good but then I suppose he's been playing in a good team. Of course you would need a better first choice CF but you could do a lot worse than Murphy as a squad player from what I've seen this year - it's a long season.
Exactly the 4m we will end up paying (3m plus 1m if promoted) has proved good value. I must admit I thought he was a steaming pile of ****. We still haven't seen much of him but that is to be expected of a 4th choice striker. I wouldn't want to rely on him as first choice mind. I have to say he has had a positive effect on most games he played. If we can flog him now for 1m then job done. We are not going to worry about losing 3m on him with what he has helped to achieve. Thought it was a shocking signing, I was proved wrong, turned out to be a good one. One of many that now needs to go though.
If he's helped them get promotion, then he's worth the money they paid because it's peanuts, even at that level.
I doubt he'll be much use in this league, but maybe he's as good an option as Mitrovic?

You can;t say that QWOP - all the mags I work with think he's easily good enough for the PL - even though I pointed out that he misses a large amount of his chances and he will get maybe one or 2 per game in the PL!
