* Hernandez has passed a medical at Real Madrid, but Atletico are desperate for that not to happen. * Atletico have consequently offered Hernandez to Liverpool in a bid to prevent the sale. When asked about the proposed transfer to Real Madrid, Alaves President Josean Querejeta admitted that he is 'surprised' at the news: "We just learned via the media that he had done a medical. We are a small club, but we must still be respected and told when a player does a medical with another club." Ex-Atletico forward Paulo Futre also expressed surprise at the proposed deal: Philippe Coutinho insists he wants to become a Liverpool legend amid intense Barcelona reports Oxlade-Chamberlain believes he will develop as a central midfielder rather than a wide man and he is convinced he would play in that role under Klopp. Liverpool would be expected to fork out roughly £25million for the Arsenal man, even with his contract so close to expiry
Julian Brandt fears a move would result in a regular place on the bench, while Mohamed Salah is again a target for Liverpool. (Paul Joyce)
brandt then clearly is not ready to move to a big club. I think i recalled jesus navas would not move cos he feared homesickness or something originally and one or two others I heard similar stories about. Basically... I'd rather i know now a guy mentally isn't ready to be "the man" than find out after. I'd much rather the types where you know hand on heart they are guys who are 100% on it on match day than a guy who mentally might check out... ie... give me sanchez all day no thanks to ozil... that sums it up in a nutshell. I sincerely doubt salah is any sort of target though..
I would take 50 mil and Masch for Coutinho. Our young midfielders can learn from him. He would actually play CDM and would be more than enough cover on bench along side Lucas. Also, if we were to get Champions League does anyone think Varane could be a possibility? His injury has stopped him playing the Madrid team and has gone under the radar.

Michael Keane to bolster Liverpool defence? Keane will be leaving Burnley in the summer and Liverpool are one club linked with the 24-year-old centre-back. Former Reds stopper, Jamie Carragher, said he’s not sure Keane is an upgrade on the current defenders. Carragher is a fan of the player, but isn’t sure if he is what is needed. “If you’re
Jurgen Klopp says there are "no plans" to sell Philippe Coutinho and insists Liverpool are more focused on adding to the squad rather than letting players go. The Brazilian has been in fine form this season and his haul of 10 Premier League goals represents his best return since arriving at Anfield in January 2013. He has constantly been linked with a move to Barcelona, with a Catalan newspaper claiming this week that an agreement had already been reached between the club and the player, but the 24-year-old only signed a new five-year contract in January and that gives Klopp confidence. "There are absolutely no plans [to sell]. What our owners say is there is the absolute opportunity not to sell anybody if we do not want to. That means we can bring in other players and it is a good situation. We have a stable squad with a good basis.
I don't think we will sell him this summer. What I do fear though is Barca will see what he is all about on the big stage and if we get cl football and target him next summer. Sadly I think then the club would sell him.
But Barca will want to see him on big stage first. If we don't get cl football we will get another year out of him.
FIFA probe Football’s governing body is set to investigate Roberto Firmino’s Liverpool transfer following their investigation of Paul Pogba’s Man United move. It has been suggested that the deal only netted his previous club Hoffenheim only £5.8million of the £29m fee. According to recent reports and footballing leaks, the rest of the fee went to owner Dietmar Hopp’s company Transfair. Following this, FIFA are set to investigate the deal to determine if there was any wrongdoing during the dealings. It has been made clear by reports that Liverpool are cleared of all wrongdoing, which will see them in the clear.
I think he has regressed a bit and just looks like he won't develop any further and he's 23 already (24 this year), so he isn't a youngster anymore. I don't think we would have any interest and if we did Everton wouldn't have any interest in selling to us
thats hoffenheim's problem.. if our registration documents are in order and fifa cleared it at the time they can phook off. It is obvious there are some very poor practices going on with young players and agents around europe but english league and clubs seem to have a one owner of registration system all the way back to mascherano and tevez issue.
I think Barca would have seen him play on a big stage when in the Brazilian team. It's quite clear he's more than capable of playing in the CL. Hopefully with us!
Really? I see this differently. Barkley burst onto the scene as a kid but simply hasn't pushed on. There is no way he'd make the City team (or bench), and even with a weak Utd midfield he'd struggle to get a spot. Everton is the highest level he should be playing at, if he moves I'd think a team like Southampton would be more suitable. I really don't see the hype. He's a pretty average 24 year old midfielder that just happens to be English.
I dont think the calls on barkely are really fair here. I understand them mind but i just tbink hes not an undeveloped kid here. Hes a pretty good cm but on with a stinking attitude thats going to waste a huge talent by not dedicating himself like he could. The guy is very talented if we leave the bias out of it but i feel the critique ought to be that hes not as good as he should be rather than hes nothing at all. 100k per week = average wage now it seems or something but i honestly wonder where he thinks he will get more. Spurs wont give it to him....
