I'm just happy that the team haven't got much pressure on them this season to get promoted from the fans and hopefully not from Nicola, because then we can really show people how we can play and enjoy the season. Next season we will have pressure on the team to do well and with a couple more quality signings this and next season then i can honestly see us playing in the Premier League in the 2013-2014 season!!! :emoticon-0152-heart <rose> Markus <rose> :emoticon-0152-heart

I must admit that I have been really pleased with our start and don't think we should get too hung up about new players especially a CB as both Martin & Seaborne have had great performances. My concern is in attack - no cover for Rickie!
Jay Rod please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I honestly dont see why it shouldnt last, I believed since the beginning of last season that position wise in the championship compared to L1 we'd be about the same! In the championship there arnt as many "Thug" teams which bully our players to the floor and interrupt the flowing football we like to play, no team is likely to park the team bus in front of there goal this season against us. This is turn creates more flowing football which suits us down to the ground! From only what i have heard yesterday this was all evident with some superb passing displays, leaving the other team gobsmacked by our brazillian like skill xD. All i say is...Why not? We have depth, skill, the best manager in england IMHO, definatly the best in the championship. With a couple more additions, the CB and striker i really dont see why we cant dominate this league!

Strewth Dan......aren't we just getting a bit ahead of ourselves here........Were only two matches in.......yes it would seem we have some momentum at the moment........but a bit dangerous to be talking about having to replace players to play in the premier. Both players have PL experience so won't be exact novices in any case......first step first and all that.........

I don't think we'll go up this season (I've said that many times as it happens) but isn't that what Adkins wants to do? Sign players for the sake of taking us to the Premiership, as we signed the likes of Fonte and Chaplow when we were in league one for the sake of taking us back to the Championship?

All you can do is enjoy the good times, at Cardiff first half of the season we actually went top twice but as you may have noticed we are still here lol.

Hope we can win today because having 6 points feels so much better than 4 or 3...

You been here before you know if you can get off to a good start you are likely to be right up there while teams who get off to a bad start usually struggle down the bottom.

Anyway we will need each other to take points off the other sides around us during the season so lets hope you beat West Ham lol!

I never enjoyed the end of a season as much as the last one, though the great escape was good in a different way.

I agree! last season was awesome! 33 years of supporting the Saints, and it's up there!

All I can say about our start is ENJOY!!! If it wasn't for the bad times, we wouldn't enjoy the good times. I'm not getting ahead of myself, but a good solid season is all we need.

COYR!

I'm generally the type of fan who doesn't make outrageous predictions and I try to make rational observations about strength and weaknesses. BUT although I've seen Saints when we've had great players in the team, I have not seen better football (by that I mean the passing) than we saw at times yesterday. You could try to explain it away by saying Barnsley weren't very good but I think it was more a case of our passing and movement was exceptional, they couldn't cope with it. What stopped it being a masterclass was not taking advantage of our undoubted superiority. If you think I'm exaggerating have a look at some of the Barnsley football forums, even they agree with me.
Cork and Lallana were extremely impressive and I've not seen Richardson's name mentioned that much, but I thought he also had a great game. He's a powerhouse of energy. But everyone played really well.
The highlight of the day for me was during that spell in the second half when we pinged passes all over the place for what seemed an age, Lallana did a bit of showboating that drew gasps of amazement from all those around me. Fantastic.
I'm not sure of how good our defence can be when we have so many players who like to get forward and we may well pay for it in other games but the entertainment can't be questioned.
I can remember some S****horpe fans coming onto the old 606 when Nigel came to us saying "prepare to be entertained". Well, they weren't wrong on that one.

A lot of top managers have never had to struggle for money so how good they really are is unclear. Team doesn't perform..buy another expensive player. Nigel did wonders with Scun thorpe getting them promoted twice and keeping them in the Championship once. Now he has the chance to try building a team with good facilities and some funds. I have never been so excited being a Saints fan.
