They should force these big companies to give their staff the time off. It's typical of this ****ing country, we get screwed over all the time.

The consumers want the stores open and if the Govt changed the trading hours law and banned them from opening on Bank Holidays, then people would moan like ****. So in fairness to the stores they have to open.

I think Gonzos point is they either run on a skeleton staff, offer more incentives or voluntarily shut themselves down. No one should be forced to work on a bank holiday, especially a giant multi national who can afford it

I don't think people really care, the large stores dress it up that way so that they can make more money. I think it crazy that stores open on bank holidays, give the poor ****ers the day off we'll survive one day. Same with 24hr opening no ****er really needs this.

I wouldn't be arsed but I doubt it'd be generally popular, and I can't see it ever changing now. 24hr is boss you heathen.

I love 24 hour and i love open every day. It's just convenient for the lazy/busy ****ers like me.

I do agree though we would survive without it. We survived without it before. However as you say it shouldn't be compulsory to work this

That's the point. Yes it's good but some ****er is getting screwed over for you to get a pasty at 3am.

Are they really? Some people prefer night shifts (i got that impression) and i suppose it creates jobs where there are none. Unless people are forced into the night shift then surely that is only a good thing?

Yeah it works for some, I think my point stands up better with large companies that are forcing their staff to work the **** hours or get a new job.

That's a totally different issue though, that's down to zero hours contracts and the erosion of employment rights under the caring sharing Tories.

It's OK though as we're about to bin off the rest of our employment protection legislation that was lead by the EU and put the entirety of our employment rights and conditions in the hands of a Tory Govt with a huge majority.......Oh.

I think you'll find that Corbyn has spectacularly ****ed up the chance of taking down this Tory Govt which is being lead by the far right and pulling the strings of one of the weakest and most wooden PM's in modern history.

If the Labour party had a leader worthy of the name with some actual charisma, I doubt we'd be looking at Brexit and the party would have had half a chance of ousting this lot.

This is what is quite worrying, I'm probably going labour because I really want this Tory bunch out but the alternative is also a worry.

I'm voting for the one of Lib Dem or Labour that has most chance of defeating the Tory incumbent.
Personally i would rather eat my own liver than vote Tory but my worry about voting Labour is that it might keep Corbyn in power where as a disasterous GE might lead to his removal.

Of course they will. The election system is stacked in their favour.
