Indeed it was a good read Cromer. I look forward to seeing who comes in as HC (the Michael O'Neill rumours seem to be getting stronger) and who is culled.
I also liked this - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...off-to-spite-their-face-this-summer-1-4997800 and the other articles on the EDP website. Chris voices concerns re culling too many players.

Haven't read it yet but agree there's no point jettisoning / selling too many if we don't have the resources to replace them with somebody at least as good / better. But the thing is in urgent need of a major overhaul, not just the usual 'tweaking'. A fine line and difficult to call - glad the decisions are not all up to me!

I can see at least two youth players, other than the three that have already made senior debuts, being integrated into the senior set up in order to minimise expenditure. Also, it appears that Toffolo is to be kept, but another LB will be required, senior to him.

Fu*ck sake... We really are such a pile sh*t.

Only Norwich could lose those players and not get a penny for any of them.

I'd get rid of Lafferty, Mulumbu, Whittaker, Turner and Bassong. But to not get a single penny for the combined, is astounding.

I would have kept Bennett and Ruddy. To lose them all on a free too is sickening.

And the board say we are skint despite the multi-millions in the Premiership and the parachute payments. Can't afford to buy anyone we need, but we can afford to let 7 saleable players leave on a free!? Even if it was like 100,000 for a player like Turner. That's doable. That's youth team players wages for a few months!

Sheffield Wednesday loaned Turner the other season!! A decent board and staff would have sold that player seasons ago, when we could have got that money in. We are run by such a bunch of stupid idiots.

We had no money to bring players in after just being in the Premiership. So that means we now have to replace 7 first team players. They will all have to be free transfers now then. Because we had no money to bounce straight back,so, by that, we will be in debt this season. Somehow.

Nothing they say, and do matches.

How the hell do we get fees for players out of contract?

Take up the option of an extended contract for a year or two (on extortionate wages <doh>) so we can demand a fee - in the unlikely event there'd be any takers!
Not an option - cut one's losses time and rebuild from the roots upwards <ok>

    Sell them years ago!!

Turner. Should have gone about 3 seasons ago! Bassong about 2-3. Whittaker has still been used this season, even though he is total sh*te.

You don't sell players out of contract, we know.. You are like part of the Norwich board.

You sell them before the contracts are up. Especially if they are players you pay wages to and never play. You just f*cking sell them before they run their contract down. Milking us for premiership wages, without playing a game.

Calm down FML. What's happened today is nobody on this forum's fault - neither is what could or should have happened in the past. We just comment on it, not influence or make decisions on this stuff <ok>

Yes. I wasn't blaming the poster. I was answering him.
What are you pressing on me for? I didn't attack the poster. We were talking about the news and giving both opinions? I was attacking the board.

    ?

Is this another threat to ban me when I've not done anything? Seems like every few months this happens.

Some of your last few posts have been a tad 'overly aggressive' imo, that's all. Christ, we're all still coming to terms with the implications of today's news,
Opinions may / will vary, but to tell 1950 "You are like part of the Norwich board" was a shade unnecessary. He made a valid point, as it happens. <ok>

You hit the nail on the head when you refer to their Premiership wages. As I have said many times, to offload players who are under contract you have to have a Club who are prepared to pay us a fee and who will match their wages. Wednesday were interested in Turner but not his wages. Watford were interested in Bassong but not his wages. Nowadays a lot of players are prepared to sit out their contracts especially when they are are approaching the end of their careers and whilst I might be wrong I suspect that we were victims of this.
