kind of situation fella. We've got a period where we need to concentrate on debt as some of it is being called in by our creditors soon. Add to that, this season is going to end with18 seniors at the club which could drop to 8 if all the expected players leave and we need to get that squad up to 40. A grim reality people quick forget when they talk about summer investment and wanting players like Chris Woods or Ulloa, not happening, we don't have that sort of cash. I haven't really posted on here much since weekend but you seem to have your head screwed on with entire situation (and have done most of the season).
A lot of it runs similar to things I've posted on here throughout the season... impossible to know exactly what to expect until you see how Short intends to approach it.
I expect a lot of matchgoing fans will enjoy the experience more though, and I expect atmosphere will improve.

Think a lot off us came to terms with it a long time before the relegation. I had no confidence when the summer window closed. Every year I've felt the squad had enough in it compared to our rivals to stay up. Not this season though. We needed another 50m-60m of transfers. Short spent the bare minimum, I think he wanted us down, losing 20m a season with the team needing way more investment than it could afford. Our Premier League status and costs had come to the point where the only option was to hemorrhage money or go down. The first option would be nailed on to send us into administration further down the line. Needs must. Going to be a rough ride ahead for bit while we're stripped back.
Step forward SKP! I think i'm the only one who thinks he would be a perfect fit for us.
Young, hungry, would play an attacking style of football (i'm just presuming that like!) and he would surely bring people in to help coaching who also know what the club is all about. Alex Rae or Bally, Peter Reid etc...Keane got us up 1st time in his 1st job as manager...
Surely any new manager would be a gamble but we need a manager the opposite to Moyes with fresh ideas. He would instantly lift the place!...
Anyone like that in the background behind Phillips would be a massive improvement!

Since we are into daft things about new managers, why not the lad at Hull? He is either some kind of genius having his two best players sold, or maybe he worked that a team is 11 not 2+9 and got it right. Maybe he just got lucky. but speaking of us going in for emerging managers we took Mick Buxton on after Huddersfield played us off the pitch in the League Cup.

I would agree with this. We have had managers with proven ability and it hasn't worked so it's time for something new. I think after the meeting with Short, Moyes will walk in any case (after a gentlemen's agreement) . I don't think he will risk going into the season and us struggling....then his position, credibility or whatever will be shot. To be honest I think he realizes he's already there. So it would be Kevin Phillips for me with John O'Shea as his right hand man. Both of these in terms of finance would be relatively low because they are starting out on their careers. They both have Sunderland passion which we have so greatly lacked this season....just my opinion though.
Not sure about Monk - I get same image in my head of failure as moyes and "our 3rd tier enemy"
I heard Stefan Schwartz is interested - I think we need a passionate charismatic manager who can associate with our great club and its fans (and is a football man ) - aka Quinn , maybe one of SKP or Schwartz, Hoolioooo, Kevin Ball (whats he doing now at he club) with Peter Reid overseeing
Hey why not all in the management and coaching team - a passionate assembly line in a root and branch change.But its got to be right
Have you considered Gary Rowett? Very good young manager who's been a success wherever he's been, Birmingham made a colossal **** up by sacking him earlier this season. Certainly a better choice than Pearson imo.
Also Lee Johnson at Bristol City is one to watch, young and done a very good job there on a limited budget.
I can't see Wagner, Jokanovic or Monk moving to another Champ club, they'll either stay put or wait for a Prem club to come asking next season.
Chris Coleman would tick a lot of the boxes but would he leave Wales for the Championship, doubt it
We don't need wild card, we need trusted and experienced to see us though a difficult time while the club is being fixed at other levels.
