I'm imagining the outfits you wore to some of those gigs Ninesy, your flouncy stuff for Spandau, bondage leathers for Frankie, suit and bowler hat for Madness, big yellow suit for Kid Creole. But I don't think even you would sink to a pointy bra, so I suspect you haven't seen Madonna in the flesh.

I'm sorry mate but Mrs Nines is a Madonna fan and we went to see her at Earls Court on her 'Drowned World' tour 2001 ish. She was actually quite good but that wasn't enough for me to not spend the majority of the occasion in the bar.

I think this was also the gig when concert prices went mental. Until then you could go and see anyone for up to thirty quid. I think the cheapest tickets to her show was £90 and it made front page news. Every Tom, Dick and Harry thought they could do the same afterwards.

You should've seen my outfit when I went to see 'Cameo.' :emoticon-0178-rock:

I saw her in 1990 at Wembley Arena. The London Fire Brigade Welfare Fund were offering tickets to go and see her for a quid. So we decided to have a Watch night out and take the wives and girlfriends. It was awful. Costume change after every two songs and she done loads of gospel stuff and kept trying to show off her vocal range and breaking up the songs to do so. Having said that I'm glad I went and saw her.

Saw them in December 2015 at The Roundhouse, Camden. Sharleen has a tremendous voice and boy can she swear.
I'm off to see them in a couple of months, my wife informs me. Wasn't especially looking forward to it though Sharleen is a beguiling figure, but if she has a potty mouth it might be fun.

They're a great band. I know Ally McErlaine the lead guitarist ( sort of ) and it's a miracle that he's still alive and able to perform after recovering from a near fatal brain haemorrhage. The bass player Johnny McElhone founded 'Altered Images' remember them? As a lover of profanity Sharleen will be right up your street but listen to her voice when she hits the high note on 'Inner Smile', it's something to behold. You'll have a great night and maybe come away feeling somewhat surprised.

I saw them at the Hammersmith Odeon just after the release of the album 'Liverpool' in 1986 Strolls.
