i know its only 2 games into the season but 2 really confident wins against not easy opponents i dont want to jix us but my god! i think we can go up! in 20 odd years of being a saints fan have i ever felt so confident in our team! to a message to all championship teams WE ARE SOUTHAMPTON AND WERE COMING FOR YOU!
I'd love to be that optimistic but I'm an eternal pessimist. Give me a CB and a top quality striker and I'll be with you but I'll admit I've got the euphoria around our recent successes etc. Great time to be a Saints fan and I couldn't be happier thinking about the future but can't help but feel this season is too soon
couldnt agree with you more if we do manage to sign gorkss and jay rod (who we have been heavily linked with) i really think we can go up
Sounds great, Gorkss and Jay-Rod or Maynard and I'll actually be able to believe it. Can't help but feel this excitement for the future is payback for the horrible few years we had to go through under Lowe and Wilde, things are finally looking up
if i was nige i would pick jay rod, but then again we could be signing anyone i still think 1 or 2 maybe added before the window closes
What do you think about keeper, couple of people I know reckon we should be looking to bring someone in sooner rather than later, don't reckon Kelv and Bart have what it takes if we get to the Prem, what do you reckon?
I reckon Kelv can play in the Prem once more, Bart maybe, but we can cross that bridge when we get to it. Both are perfectly useful in The Championship.
cant see us investing in a keeper tbh, bartz for number 1 next season if we sign a keeper i would expect them to a young nipper
Only two games or not we have max points so my message to all of our fans is enjoy and save any pessimism for the bad times .I agree that a couple of more signings will help and this has been hinted at by Nige but under estimate our present group at your peril apparently they defended for thier lives in the final minutes yesterday and we are agreat passing side with creative and dangerous players and we are now a team with belief no one will look at us these days and think three points for the taking. No its time to stick our chests out because people are begining to show us respect again coyr
People are taking notice, but probably still believe we'll fade. Everyone will be wary of us..give Saints room and they'll punish you. Glad to hear that Saints defended at the end like it was the most important game in the world. Great team spirit.
Strewth Dan......aren't we just getting a bit ahead of ourselves here........Were only two matches in.......yes it would seem we have some momentum at the moment........but a bit dangerous to be talking about having to replace players to play in the premier. Both players have PL experience so won't be exact novices in any case......first step first and all that.........
We've got to enjoy it while it lasts (which I don't suspect it will). I'm just finding it nice to enjoy a season for once. Even last season was more relief than enjoyable.
I have never enjoyed the start of a season so much as this one, and I have been following Saints for over 45 years!
I never enjoyed the end of a season as much as the last one, though the great escape was good in a different way.
I lost count of all the great escapes we had, starting with 1966-7 and going on until the last but one season in the Championship. Never again!... At least at the start of a season you can still hope!
Either way It's going to be a brilliant season for us! Let's just enjoy the season! Anywhere more than midtable to a bonus, because we would be happy with mid table but at the moment feel we can achieve more than that!
