Looking at the headlines after the game and it aggravates the poop out of me that the news media does not respect Sunderland. The headlines were, to say the least biased in favour of Liverpool....but what can you expect, our team does not obtain the respect that they deserve after a performance that they put in, in the second half of the game. From Yahoo Sports "Sunderland nick draw as Liverpool fade" Shouldn't that have been more like...."Liverpool hold on to draw after Sunderland bounce back" From an other news outlet..."Misfiring Liverpool held by Sunderland in opener" Shouldn't that have been more like...."Sunderland strength overcomes Liverpool in second half"....Misfiring....what an excuse. Another news outlet...." Liverpool held at Anfield"....wait a minute shouldn't that be more like "Sunderland held to draw at Anfield" Another news outlet...."Wasteful Liverpool held".....what poop shouldn't that read more like....." Sunderland guile nearly takes all points" Another new outlet...."Reds held after Black Cats leveller" shouldn't that read something like....."Sunderland held after goal and missed penalty by Liverpool" Sorry for the whine but after seeing the headlines our team does not get the respect it deserves and this is the first game of the season. I'm not sure if anyone has a similar opinion......comments please and no doubt I'll receive them.
Headline: "Sunderland created chances to steal the show!" (edit ..) ...but unfortunately they fell to Lee Cattermole.
If it had been Andy Carroll who scored a goal like that, they would have had a half hour slot just to say how brilliant it was..
Anyone going by the highlights shown on MOTD would think Liverpool were battering us for 90 minutes and Larsson pinched and undeserved goal. Hanson did go up a bit in my estimation after the highlights by saying "Sunderland were much the better team second half."
What annoys me is how much better the goal would have been if Rooney scored it, they'd all be having a ****ing **** over it, yet not a word on the goal
Headline should of read WES BROWN leaves Anfield with £35 million in his back pocket!! or Colback and Cats take control at silenced Anfield.
Cant see what your all upset about. This is the kind of journalistic ****e that we have had for as long as I can remember, and being slightly younger than our esteemed moderator I go back a long way. As for tv pundits they are no better, and to emphasise that, any of you listening to that all time great analyst harping on during the Stoke-Chelsea game know what I mean. How does this kerb crawling little twerp still make a good living out of the game. For the younger patrons of this board I am refering to Mr Pleat.
To be quite honest, before the game I would have settled for a draw at Anfield, I think most people would, but, by the end of the game I was disappointed that we didn't get a win. The scousers fell to pieces after Larrson's cracker of a goal & the new signings that took part all played quite well, with Wong perhaps needing a couple of games before he is at his best, then he'll be banging them in
