Juve have been mightily impressive. Barca very petulant. When they're not getting all the decisions they look lost even with their great forwards.
They are rapidly turning into a gold plated Arsenal. Weak at the back, little protection in front, don't like the hard graft, easily bullied, great when the opposition let them play
Lots of moaning, diving and going missing when things aren't going their way, too. The defence simply isn't good enough, but the attitude of some of their players is appalling. I can see their new manager spending a ton of money in the summer, whoever he is. Hopefully none of our defenders are deemed to be high profile enough.
Awful mistake at the back from Dortmund and Germain scores within 5 seconds of coming on. Game over. Reflects kindly in hindsight that we were beaten by the eventual semi-finalists of the competition. Monaco have been very, very impressive.
Looking at the 4 semi-finalists, you have 2 who are excellently organised and defensively watertight in Juve and Atletico, stacked up against 2 whose modus operandi is attack, attack, attack in Monaco and Real. Could be a fascinating contest if they meet their opposite number.
Monaco are a real joy to watch. At the time, I was pissed that they done the double over us but having watched them in the CL, it's no massive surprise now that they did.
Bayern, Barca and Dortmund all fall. And Leicester. Put on a better show than this mob, though. Feel really sorry for Dortmund. ****ty way to go out. Hope they get back into it next season and win their domestic cup in this one. Some consolation.
Spanish commentators on the thread I'm using pointing out how a Juve-Atletico final could be a painful snooze-fest, whereas Real-Monaco has the potential to be the most madcap final in living memory. I tend to agree. At least I think I do. My Spanish is diabolically rusty.
It has also come to my attention that I understand more of what the spanish commentators are saying than I do when Jamie Carragher is behind the microphone.
Monaco v Real would be great fun. A three goal lead with 20 minutes left wouldn't look comfortable. Juve could be favourites. They look the most complete team and are used to winning.
I'll be hoping for a Man Utd win tomorrow against Anderlecht. The semi-final 2nd leg would fall on the midweek before we play them, so it could be helpful to us. Sorry, Belgians!
