IMHO they have been on thin ice since 2011. Just two seasons of Spursy-ness has prevented what has come this season. Given the 4 yrs of flux Man Utd have been in, I wonder if Arsenal supporters would have preferred to have it happen in 2012 and have the rebuilding done and dusted by now, rather than start now.
Remember way back when going to Highbury was a tough fixture? One nil to the Arsenal. I bet they'd love a bit of that right now.
Historically they've fought back when on the ropes, albeit they're in a worse position than in recent years and there's undoubted issues at that club at present. Spurs defo have a history of falling over as the finish line approaches though, is this the season they finally stride over the line? Or are they going to revert to type and flop on their faces down the final straight?
Indeed, Luvvy. I bet every Gooner would love to have the "boring" Arsenal back than the "predictably ****e" Arsenal that we see today.
You can easily tell this is something different. As well as the managers approval rating being at an all time low, there are several players who appear unhappy who are in the last years of their contracts, who must be thinking "Maybe the grass is greener......." Ox, Sanchez and Ozil all in their last years come the summer. There are like 10 others too.
This thread poses a question, though, Libby. It doesn't purport to give an answer. I was very careful about that. I don't want you lads to think that this thread is nothing more than cheap wummery.
Some (though not necessarily me) have been predicting a North London Power-Shift for some time. It was being mooted in the National press, last season.
mate you have been predicting a power shift for the last 6 years. You cannot take credit 6 years after making the prediction ffs
Having watched them last night with interest, and having seen Spurs a couple of times of late, I think you're currently miles ahead of them tbh mate. They've got the tougher run in and there's no sign at all of the annual Spurs knee wobble, as yet. At this rate we could catch them, and they host us at the library for what could be Wengers last ever game at Les Gooners.
The list is frightening tbh. What the **** are the club doing letting everyone's contracts run out? Mind boggling. Imagine if everyone just thought **** it I'm off Bad times for Arsenal, worst I've seen, probably.
Come on, Bodi... play fair, mate! I have made it crystal clear, on each of the several hundred times that I have mentioned it, that I do not necessarily think there has been a Power-Shift under way over the last 3 or 4 seasons.
