Is it too soon to talk in terms of an Arsenal spiral?

This isn't just a "Spurs thing," and is completely separate from the highly anticipated North London Power-Shift that many have been predicting for years.

Are we seeing the demise of Arsenal as one of the old-guard "Top 4" clubs? Both United and 'Pool have gone, giving way to us and City.

Has the recent revival in 'Pool's fortunes seen them take Arsenal's place at the top table?

I don't want to be seen to be too hasty to write-off Arsenal completely, because you lads will dismiss it as nothing more than an expression of the bitter rivalry between our two clubs (although they cannot really be counted as our rivals, this season), so I have been very careful to pick my words.

I'm interested in hearing what you lads think about this.

Arsenal are on a downward slide.
After 20 years of Champions league qualification and top 4 finishes, this looks to be a season too far for Arsene.
It would take a near on miracle for Arsenal to get top 4 at this stage, especially when you look at their run in.

After facing City in the FA Cup semi, they have to play a resurgent Leicester, then they face a trip to high flying Spurs, who look to be in deadly form, they have to play Jose's United (where a draw is likely), and then they go to the Britannia, where they have a very ****ty record, and then Everton, who are grabbing goals for fun right now, and against Arsenal's porous defence.....I fear for them.....

Arsenal may even finish below Everton at this rate.

I would say they have been on a plateau for 10 yrs, but Wenger thought the black line in
the distance was a horizon and not the precipice to the abyss.

The 'if we played like this all season we would be champions' run of form at
this point in the season is exactly what Wenger specialises in, no. :)

Yes, but this isn't just a slump in form, it appears to be a full blown crisis at the club.
The fans are pissed at the manager and the board, the manager is holding everyone hostage by not revealing his plans.
The fans have truly turned on the players and no one seems to give a ****.
This season feels very different from the usual slump and resurgence.

You are more optimistic about Arsenal's future than most Gooners, Tobias.
