Snodgrass was preposterously overrated when he was here. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, for an attacking midfielder he contributed ridiculously little from open play.
I'd suggest more a convenient answer. Who are they going to name - 2 players currently at the club? Jake was undoubtedly very popular, I don't think any club would ever have as captain someone universally disliked by his team mates.

This. You can't argue with his record this season but how many times did he dominate play and really take a game by the scruff of the neck? I can't remember a single time. He's one of those do nothing for 3 games then pop up with a goal players.
