Rookie mistake...

Put a YouTube video about dinosaurs and my phone and gave it to the three year old to shut him up. All good but for one thing... WiFi was switched off!

My monthly allowance as only just been renewed so got 26 days with no data now :(

They used to wear a long pointed mask when examining plague victims, making them look like ducks <ok>

the point or beak was for putting aromatics herbs and spices in as they believed in those days that plague was spread through the air, what they called 'night air', they fought these could stop it, they also had a cane to touch patients with so they didn't have to use their hands or get too close

Yes. "Bad Smells" made you sick.

There is logic to that though... It wasn't all silly superstition.

Bad smelling food (rotten) would get you sick.
Bad smelling water (fouled water) would also get you sick.

Also, sick people often have a particular odour. If you hang around sick people you get sick.

It was therefore logical for them based upon their observations to assume bad smells made you sick and therefore good smells May heal you.

true, plus i think plague does actually spread through air, but also other routes as well, whereas they thought it was just air

wasn't the plague spread through fleas that had it going onto the next host through rats/other humans?

yup.

plague was transmitted through blood. flea bites apparently.

The myth is the temperature rose such that the fleas could not digest and went about hopping madly. they would never normally leave juicy rats but jumped and transmitted it.

thats the myth of course.
